I'll also note for the record Terran is one of my favorite people - a genuinely wonderful person who works really hard with all of us - the stuff that's being said about him is patently not correct so I'd appreciate it if people would stop talking smack about a dev who totally loves you guys

WoW Housing PSA: Blueprint links depend on the original BP remaining in the original builder's BP folder. Once a person deletes the original, the BP that link can't be used anymore. As builders make new BPs and delete old ones, old BP links will expire -- which is an issue with a 50 BP limit. 1/2

I've gone ahead and put together what basically explains the racial issues concerning Blava, since her defenders are saying its nonsensical. I don't like having to be the minority educating someone on why they did bad, but I would prefer people understand the situation than be confused by it.

I tend not to comment much on WoW callouts. But seeing as one of the defense docs included me in screenshots without my permission whatsoever, I'm going to share a couple thoughts. As an indigenous person (albeit a very white one), reading through this was jarring to say the least.

Being too ashamed of the person you backed to support them beyond "likes" you hope no one notices and vagueposting should tell you that you backed the wrong person.

Since I'm getting dragged into this by Blavamoon, I'll let this doc speak for itself mostly. For the stuff tossed my way, I can speak Spanish, it's my SL, my discomfort was with Blava cussing us out in spanish during games, not speaking it. And I made a typo. It's obvious I meant latino. 1/7

The text says: Within voice chat channels, Berenal complained often about Blava speaking their native language. Spanish. Some fellows on the server also speak Spanish. For context, Berenal is Latino, but does not speak Spanish. He voiced his discomfort over hearing someone speak Spanish. Blava has said before that they are Hispanic. This is true. Hispanic is defined as: Being from a location with a Spanish-speaking origin, which includes Spain but excludes Brazil. (As Brazil speaks Portuguese primarily) This includes Spain, territories owned by Spain, and many Latin countries. Blava has never claimed they were Latino. Latino is defined as: Being from Latin America, which includes Brazil but excludes Spain. In America, these terms are often used synonymously which is a catachresis or when a word is incorrectly used in place of another because it seems similar enough. Outside of America, these two are not interchangeable. There may have been American friends who accidentally attributed this to Blava, as it is a very common catachresis, but Blava never attributed it to themselves. Berenal made statements about it "being racist for a Colonizer to call themselves Hispanic". Blava is Hispanic. Saying they are is not racist. Berenal needs to brush up on the proper definitions above. Additionally, attributing the actions of a country that Blava had no influence upon (it was hundreds of years ago), and acknowledges personally as an awful conquest of Latin America and its peoples, is absurd and a gross reach.
