Obsessing over polls won't change things. Action will. It's the antidote to despair, the key to victory, and what Trump fears the most. So at Powered by People, we're going to keep pushing at all times, on all fronts, wherever we are, with whatever we have, until we win. Join us: PoweredxPeople.org

We got Tofunmi registered to vote on his 18th Birthday. Now, we’re going to stay in touch with him and ensure he turns out in the most voter-suppressed state in the union. This is the work that works—meeting our fellow texans face to face, registering voters, & helping them make their voices heard.

A cold, rainy day didn’t stop us from meeting students at UT and Austin Community College — updating their voter registration, getting them on to the rolls, signing them up to volunteer, and staying in touch so that we can turn them out to vote and win big elections up and down the ballot.

GREAT NEWS. Trump's Texas gerrymander of 5 Congressional seats knocked down. Trump-appointed judge says "Substantial evidence shows that Texas racially gerrymandered the 2025 Map." Orders Texas midterms proceed under prior maps. www.texastribune.org/2025/11/18/t...

Federal court blocks new Texas congressional map for 2026

The decision is a major blow for Republicans, in Texas and nationally, who pushed through this unusual mid-decade redistricting at the behest of President Donald Trump.

Spent the evening in San Antonio talking with Texans about the importance of running for a place on the ballot—from local offices to the State House. If we field a strong candidate for every office, we not only have a much stronger chance of flipping seats down ballot but also at winning statewide.

Just wrapped up another great day of organizing on college campuses. This time at UTSA where we were registering voters, recruiting volunteers, and having real conversations about the future we want for Texas and our country. This is how we win in Texas.

Spent the whole day registering voters, recruiting volunteers, answering questions, and asking to stay in touch with our fellow Texans. It's tough, challenging work. But it's exactly what we need to be doing if we are going to win power in one of the most voter-suppressed states in America.

In 2018, we swung McLennan County by 22 points from the last Senate race. We did it by showing up again and again, organizing on the ground, building a volunteer army, turning out first time voters, and working with local candidates.

Spent the afternoon talking to Texans in Brazos County, which voted for Trump by 25 points. Conventional wisdom says they’re “too red” but we aren’t about to write them off. The only way we can win elections is by being with those who will decide their outcomes.

Great event in McKinney last night as we continue helping to recruit the candidates and volunteers who will ensure that we have the net new Democratic voters necessary to win up and down the ballot.

Some people talk about coattails that flow down from the top of the ticket. But we know that one of the reasons we got so close to winning in 2018 was because of the incredible candidates down ballot who were pushing votes and power up all the way to the top.

Hundreds of people came out last night in Fort Worth to support Taylor Rehmet’s (Nov. 4) special election campaign for TX Senate District 9. More than 80 of them signed up for block walk shifts and more than a dozen told us they’re open to running for places on the ballot in Tarrant County in 2026.
