Throughout August, children in England can travel by bus for free. This is a great initiative, saving families money and the hassle of driving, as well as giving buses a real boost. BUT 1 in 7 people live in places without a decent bus service - more must also be done to improve connections.

🚌 Great news: single bus fares capped at £2 from January 2027! Lower fares will help millions save money and make bus travel a more attractive alternative to driving. A policy we've long campaigned for, it will support cleaner air, less congestion and better-connected communities.

We're pleased the Gov't has included many of our recommendations in its response to the eVED public consultation: ✅Opt-in telematics option to measure mileage ✅Simpler arrangements for fleets & leasing companies. Good to see the scheme remains on track for April 2028 too.
