i made this a second time after this and i feel like it was sort of bordering on mid both times, but i am still craving it again lmao
Rice and chicken casserole. A new one for me. Turned out good.

Minor addendum is that i did almost overbalance and fall 2-3 times while playing lol. Also i was unsure about the tracking since it felt like it put me too close to the floor in my first (of 2) sessions. The crouch is a bit funky, with it being triggered by actually crouching.
i ran the gauntlet a bunch of times trying to get the wallrunning dialed in and while i am still not at all good at it, i did manage to get it under a minute. the most surprising thing is the lack of sickness, other smooth movement games have given me building queasiness after a bit, but not this.
since it was $5 on sale i picked titanfall 2 up to try this out and i gotta say it does work shockingly well. some stuff is a little jank because the systems weren't built around vr controls but most of what's there is pretty good.
Titanfall 2 VR is a shockingly well-executed conversion of an already perfect game and one of the most moving experiences I've had in VR since Half-Life: Alyx. aftermath.site/titanfall-2-vr...
Made potato leek soup last night so i made garlic and cheese bread tonight to go with it.
0 for 4 on the extended wishlist but they were always gonna play some faves anyway so we're cool
my short list of biggest (but less likely) wants: Empire Ants Dare Charger Cracker Island
owning a morph suit is so funny. there's no way to feel normal when putting it on or wearing it. it's just an inherently bizarre object, even more so when that object is fully enclosing your body.
once again an llm is doing something weird that its internet-poisoned hosts made it do as a joke and hordes of "anti-ai" people are tripping over themselves to go type things into the llm prompt and laughing at the results.
Finally got the proper torx driver and summoned the courage to do this. New thumbstick feels nice. :)
Bought some replacement thumbsticks because the original has some wear and feels a little gummy after all these years, but i'm anxious about opening it up. In theory i like the idea of repairs and repairability but also this feels like a relic, a valuable bit of history, and changing it feels wrong.
had a great halloween costume idea, it should be pretty cheap and relatively simple to do, and i probably have more than enough time to do it. nice. let's see what ways i can screw this up still lmao.
made my own, cleaner version of a 3d model and when i overlay them they're z-fighting on all the key surfaces

Laugh all you want, but in the next year or so this 512MB of storage is going to be worth thousands of dollars.
tech execs: "ai will give you super powers!" the super powers:
Ezra Klein asked Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang about AI making kids worse at math and reading. Huang’s reply: “Does it matter?” Then he said he doesn’t know his own address or phone number. “We’re going to lose some fine intellectual dexterity.” www.nytimes.com/2026/09/23/o...
hell yeah, just got the payout for my unused vacation time. (this is how i justify the idea of steam frame purchase to myself) (it would cover the cost + some accessories, barring tax and fees and stuff)
installed blender 2.79 on the linux drive. the future is in the past. onwards, aoshima.
doing shared custody of steam frame where half the time you get the headstrap and the other half you get the core module.
was wondering why the sunlight on my window shade was suddenly all flickery so i looked out and the sun is right now EXACTLY behind the flag on the top of a nearby tall building lmao
