You wouldn't let a Pennsylvanian Post, Would you? Reading City Councilman, District 4

I hope AES isn’t letting people who talk like this help strategize his GE campaign. He barely won this primary and the GOP will spend as much if not more to get Stevens voters to stay home. And if you’re mocking her supporters and spiking the football now say hello to Senator Rogers.

It's kind of funny how so many people are trying to insist that *liberals* were the one pushing the notion of AES winning by 12 points

The professionalizing of youth and high school sports is an underdiscussed cancer on American society. If your kid has any of the talent to play professionally they have to now spend 11 months out of the year in 3 different leagues that are essentially semi-pro w/o the money.

the best HS teams in the country have multiple guys who will be in the NBA in a couple of years. they aren't normal high schools, they're basketball factories. but this literally doesn't matter. the value of women's sports isn't contingent on their performance vis a vis men.

MAHA activists aren't here to be recruited, they're here to convince you their right wing conspiracies about medicine are true to get you on their side. A four term Congresswoman should know better than to even try to ally with folks who are bringing back infectious diseases and killing people.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez@ocasio-cortez.house.gov · 2d ago

There is pervasive corruption across our healthcare and agricultural systems that defy party lines. I meet with MAHA activists because a lot of their concerns are bipartisan issues that major corporations paint as partisan. The fight isn't left and right, it's top and bottom.

I'm an active member of my Democratic Party and a VBNW kind of guy. But if AOC won the nomination and was promising to continue MAHA to court them into the coalition? Giving those who deny vaccines and medical professionals a voice? It would push me close to my fucking limit.

post malone ergo propter malone@proptermalone.bsky.social · 2d ago

MAHA is incredibly passionate, super dangerously wrong about an infinite variety of things, and very gullible. so I’m pretty much fine with cozying up to them rhetorically during election szn as long as you don’t do any of the shit they want because they want it

AOC trying to find a middle ground with these people is seriously disqualifying. If you're in MAHA you think the CDC was killing people on purpose with COVID by keeping horse dewormer out of their hands or you're convinced raw milk is good for you. These aren't people a President should respect.

Weedle@weedle.bsky.social · 2d ago

Sure the MAHA activists want to make it illegal for trans people to access hormones but they're so authentic and populist about it so

And the only other option they have is scrapping their recess and fighting it out. A recess they need to campaign, and it’s worth remembering only Ossoff is in a vulnerable Dem Senate Seat. Every other swing seat is a Republican incumbent or retiring D so it’s a double edged sword for the GOP!

an important part of any negotiation is timing, and this timing couldn't be worse for republicans; trump is going to shit a fucking brick because he gets nothing out of this, and he's probably going to take that shit brick and throw it at susan collins, but it doesn't matter, they don't have time

All elected 90s Southern Democrats knew exactly what their principles lacked when they switched parties. Which is who Kennedy is, and he knows it everytime he looks in the mirror and sees the wretched he’s become.

i have more contempt for kennedy than someone like ron johnson, because kennedy’s occasional snide little digs at trump make clear that he knows exactly who trump is and doesn’t like him, but will almost never go against him
