Portico which is actually cast concrete but you'd have to be right up against it to realise its not granite. So contrary to the naysayers a bag of cement in the right hands is a wonderous thing. The building itself was built in 1753.

‘Lady Margaret’s Chair’ known as the ‘Wishing Chair.’ is at the top. Folklore says if you sat in the chair your wish would be granted but...... anything unjust wished for rebounds on the wisher. Always surrounded by crows, I've never seen it without them.

Lath & plaster ceiling Lady's Well Church 1811. Two disagreeing sides of the parish built competing churches but by 1892 the bishop closed Ladyswell. Every August 15th (Lady Day) the locals opened its doors & lit candles on the altar —a tradition that continued well into the mid-20th century

at an event once where a magician picked me out of the audience and lobbed an orange (it was part of the trick) from 50m which I caught cleanly one-handed with my bad arm (I had a child in the other) not once but TWICE. the gasps and applause I received were about 50% better than poor Fantasmo got

Okay, my QUESTION OF THE DAY is… What is your weirdest actual accomplishment? Not the biggest necessarily…but the weirdest?

Didn't I come to bring you a sense of wonder? Good friends to your door be sent, and your heart be well content with what the day may leave behind. Time be good and Life be kind.

Harbour Street Tullamore Co. Offaly c.1902. Incredibly we know the names of the two children– that’s Alo Johnson on the left and Peggy Ryan on the right. Hopefully life was good to them.

Puss has a terrible habit of bringing in live mice for colosseum like kill performances. There was incredible drama in my absence today when one ran under the sofa still didn’t end well…

Let the food speak for itself we do things differently— "An ethically-raised, dry-aged heritage Angus reserve, massaged with a Himalayan pink sea salt crust and kissed with a foraged black garlic and red wine reduction. Served on a bespoke, in-house brioche pillow."
