I'm a good writer with bad habits. Newest novels are BEEP, about a monkey smuggled to NYC by a plucky tween named Inga.Together they save the world! And LUCKY TURTLE, a NYTBR Editor’s Choice. “A thrilling, blistering tale of young love and old hate.”
Raided the herb garden. Maybe a Thai larb tonight. I’ve got mint, Thai coriander (culantro), cilantro with fresh coriander seeds, parsley, Thai basil, lemon grass, chives, Italian basil. I’ll use jar tuna for the meat. Sticky rice toasted. Sticky rice balls. Cuke cut up. Little tomatoes in mouth 🌱🌿🍚
I almost didn’t recognize these tall and gangly pink beauties: French breakfast radish bolted and gone to flower. I save the seeds year to year, and the continuity is marvelous. Alongside fresh breeds, of course. But flower, O radish, and show us those delicate promising pink passages! 🌱
Well, 8 dozen heads of garlic should take me through the next week or two… 🌱🧄
Globe thistle brought from the old house about doubles flowers each year. Last year 24, this year 51. I count things, make me stop! 🌱📷
This old hydrangea of ours, planted c. 1984, is hidden from the show garden behind the fence and surrounded by every other beauty and yet keeps holding its own, blooms like clouds from airplanes 🌱📷
A little solar candle lights the old lantern in my garden over the marsh in Maine this evening, very high almost new moon tide 🌱📷🌘
Hens and chicks busting out this year in my dry boxes in Maine! 🌱🌵
Anyone know the breed of this old pink clematis? 6-petal flowers, doesn’t climb too high… 🌱💐
Good old dependable jackmanii clematis is having its moment in Maine! 🌱💐
The shakkei is lit tonight, as evening takes hold in my garden, coast of Maine 🌱📷
Rugosa rose today on the beleaguered dunes here in Maine, so fragrant, so optimistic! 🌱
I love these wine-colored poppies, just bloomed amid the California cousins here in Maine… 🌱
Wisteria time in Maine! So reminds me of my trip to Japan last May, where the blooms were everywhere from gardens to the forest canopy 🌱📷💐
Snails came out in the afternoon rain in Portland, Maine, who knew how many! Night creatures by habit! 🌱🐌

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, no matter how defined! 🌱💐
Wild turkey in the garden, part 2! She’s gradually filling the nest 🌱🦃
Asparagus time in Maine. I take an odd number each day from our small patch and eat them for lunch I’ll get a few weeks worth and then let the rest grow into fronds and red berries for the birds to spread… 🌱🍴
