Delicate, dark art. A little strange, queer, witchy, and wild.

Always sad to see the end of Hallowtide, but it’s been a chill, fun season. I’m looking forward to carrying that same energy into the holiday season. This time of year has always been a little melancholy for me, as my family has dealt with several tragedies during this time.

I didn’t realize there was an international blind cat day! We recently shared pictures of our Noct Noct, but it’s a good opportunity to share our pretty girl, Bobo (Her real name is Aubade – to compliment Nocturne – but that lasted all of a day.)

Continuing to share older art: I really like the way this one turned out. Cosmic eyes and horns (and halos) have just become a 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 of my work in recent years. This is part of what I’m (for now) calling my “Dark Saints” series.

Sharing another artist I am such a huge fan of. Her work is so beautiful and haunting and the way the two sides contrast each other is just so so lovely. There's so much noise on the internet, but every time one of her pieces show up on my timeline, I just have to stop and feel for a minute.

Blooming Hearts on the Water Deep, dark, and rich colors with this one. I love how the lily pads have such an inky quality to them. #photography #nature #naturephotography #lilypads #waterlilies #flowers #flowerphotography #plants #pondscape #waterscape #bloomscrolling

First cool day in Houston this season! 🍂 The wind is blowing. Our windchimes are clinking. The light is soft. We have apple spice candles burning. I love this time of year so much. I feel so inspired and I love our little family. 🧡

Since we’ve been posting more on socials, I wanted to throw out all the other places we’re at. We'll be largely sharing the same stuff across all of them so no need to follow them all. W/ the most being here. (Aside from maybe Facebook. Not sure how much longer we’re going to bother with that one.)

This is the other main character in my practice horror comic/game. Her name is Foxglove (named by @Nesteia87 because she’s good at naming things.) She plays a bit of a Cheshire Cat to Hester’s Alice. Helpful at times and less so at others. I’m really happy with how she turned out!

Candy Hoard 2026! @Nesteia87 and I used to bring candy into our office every year at the start of October to kick off the spooky season. We ended up pausing once we both moved to working freelance but had the opportunity to do it again this year. 🎃🍬🍫🍭

Tomorrow is officially October! @Nesteia87 and I have had a tradition going for the last 15-16 years of watching a dark/scary/horror-adjacent movie every day of the month. Here’s our watchlist for this year (in no particular order).

I’ve been dabbling in making video games. I have a little WIP horror game I’ve been playing around with, mostly just to teach myself things. I’ve also been wanting to improve my comic work for future projects. I thought it’d be fun to marry the two and do some comic work based on the game.

There are a handful of prints we’ve had in our collection that we’re sharing for the first time online, starting with the badge art I did for this year’s Comicpalooza. These were for the Halo and Matrix speed passes. A special thank you to everyone who bought a print!

This is Bodie. His presence indicates the beginning of Pride Month. May his whimsy and steadfastness bring joy and confidence to all. 14/10 the parade starts right behind him 🌈🐾 (IG: hellobodie)

a golden retriever puppy on a bright pink rope leash prances through some tall grass. he’s wearing a brightly patterned bandana around his neck and is carrying a miniature six-stripe pride flag in his mouth. his front right paw is raised mid-stride, like he’s ready to hop into a pride parade at any second.

Thank you to everyone who visited us at Comicpalooza this past weekend! We loved getting to see new and familiar faces. Thank you for all the love and continued support! 🖤🐦‍⬛💀

Here are a couple of pieces I (Toni) have been working on. Line art has always been the thing I love most about making art, so I've been really indulgent with it lately.

We’ve been on Bluesky a while, but this is our first post! Birdbones is a wife/wife, artist/writer team working on several projects, from a cosmic horror/romance comic to themed art collections and stationery. Our vibe is queer, dark, elegant, occult. We’re excited to share more here in the future!
