A magical encounter with a young barn owl that I’ll never forget , it just took my breath away , it’s so beautiful 😍 I hope with all my heart that it lives a long and healthy new life out in the big wide world 🤞

Evening #patchbirding Highlights … great -tailed grackle and a close encounter with a barn owl . Lots of swallows ,house martins and a couple of swift on the meadows , good to see a few hedgehog at dusk .
Made up to see the great tailed grackle just now on the meadow on #patchbirding , I last saw him on 3rd July 🙌🏼
Not many but still good to see a few waders back on the shore on #patchbirding over high tide 4 Dunlin,8 sanderling ,1 whimbrel ,4 curlew. Lots of young birds around the woods nuthatch,goldcrest,song thrush ( pics) there were also robins,mistle thrush,woodpecker ,jays blackcaps.

Afternoon at Oglet chasing butterflies 😂 along the cliffs 3 clouded yellow the highlights , plenty of painted lady,red admiral,peacock ,meadow brown ,large whites Quiet for birds on the Mersey over the high tide with just a few black headed gulls .

It’s been lovely watching a jay family visiting my garden last few days .. 2 adult and 2 young , they’re so entertaining!
Wow a 1st for me , just had a scarlet tiger moth in my garden 🤩🙌🏻
I was made up to see 2 banded demoiselle 🥳a new species for me on my patch at the ponds on the estuary business park today There were emperor,Broad-bodied , black-tailed skimmer dragonflies and azure and blue-tailed damselflies
Great -tailed grackle on the meadow at Speke hall just now , he’s alarm calling as there is a fox below the tree ( and I don’t mean me 😂)
A young fox came out of the bushes with this attached and it made me smile and laugh as it tried to get it off 😂🦊
So many butterflies on the meadows and reserve today, the toadlets have emerged from the pond and were all over the paths Lots of meadow brown,ringlets,small skippers (pictured) Large skippers,painted lady,common blue , full of wild flowers and this beautiful pyramidal orchid
Evening #patchbirding Highlights ..Lots of swallows and house martins over the meadows , Barney was on the post for a while listening and looking for voles which paid off, 2 Cetti’s young seen again who were busy catching bugs Quiet on shore just the shelducks and ducklings
A little bit of cuteness on this afternoons #patchbirding with 12 little humbugs 🥰 Only other waders were 9 curlew and 2 oystercatcher.
