just caught up with Darktow and Projekt Funball and man it reminded me it's not that I grew out of loving Critical Role, I just really, really, really loved the Mighty Nein mentally sending Yasha and Beau on a holiday🍹🌊🏖️

commission for @aceofbasedesires.bsky.social, who requested an illustration of one of the scenes in @violettressed.bsky.social's fic 'The Bone That Has No Marrow' (link in the replies)! #shadowgast

digital fanart of Essek and Caleb from Critical Role, illustrating a scene from "The Bone That Has No Marrow", a fanfiction by ao3 user VioletTressed. Essek is a young-looking dark elf with pale grayish-purple skin, shoulder-length wavy white hair, and small pointed ears. he is wearing a dark purple outfit that consists of a long-sleeved fitted turtleneck, a tunic with geometric pleating and wide shoulders, and dark leggings. Caleb is a human in his early forties, with light freckled skin and dark auburn chin-length hair and beard with streaks of white in them. he is dressed in a white collared shirt, the rest of his torso hidden under a blanket.
Essek is sitting cross-legged on the wooden floor against the side of a bed. there is a pillow in his lap, and Caleb's head is resting on it. one of Essek's palms is resting against Caleb's chest, while the other hand is hovering over Caleb's hair, just shy of touching. Essek's head is bent down, watching the sleeping Caleb with a tired and conflicted expression.
on top of the soft cheerful quilt on the bed behind them, there is a rigid supine figure covered with a white sheet. the night scene is illuminated by the gentle orange-yellow shine of a crystal set on a nearby nightstand, as well as a much more muted glow of luminescent tree fungi growing on one of the wooden beams supporting the wall. the shelves above the bed are full of various knick-knacks and containers, bunches of drying flowers suspended from the ceiling. a round window just above the bed overlooks some treetops and a slightly clouded grayish night sky.

they keep letting people go on record and say "don't worry everyone, we only replaced our concept artists with ai" as if the concept artists aren't the entire skeleton of the thing. you took the bones out, man. look at it flippin and floppin around. fuck off

So here is my promise~ I wanted to paint this moment when I first saw it on stream. #criticalrolefanart #jesterlavorre #fjordstone #themightynein #themightneingspoilers #fjorester

Fan art of Fjord and jester. The colour palette consists of pinks whites and golds, Fjord receives Jester in their wedding attire. There is a fluttering of rose petals and the picture features part of his wedding speech.

"So here is my promise. I will match your mischief with patience, your spontaneity with steadiness, and your boundless heart with one that is forever yours. I will follow you into every storm, every strange scheme, every wild dream, because anywhere you are, that's where I belong. In the quiet mornings and the chaotic nights and the moments where we're laughing so hard we can hardly breathe, and in the ones where the seas get rough and the path ahead is uncertain, I will be your anchor, your partner, and your home, just as you have been mine."

one of the three tarot cards i associate with shadowgast, The Star 🌟 #shadowgast #CriticalRole #CriticalRoleFanArt

digital fanart of Caleb and Essek from Critical Role, based on The Star tarot card. it is styled like a painting done on tan canvas, with strips of unpainted canvas at the top and bottom. 'XVII' and 'The Star' are written in slanted cursive above and below the painting, respectively.
Essek and Caleb are in their garden, on their knees and hugging each other tightly. in front of them, there is a low strawberry plant, many berries visible from under the green leaves. next to them, on the ground, there is a ceramic jug and a watering can, on their sides as if discarded hastily in a rush to embrace, with water flowing from them onto the dark soil. behind the characters, trees and a cozy cottage house are visible in the background, and around them seven glowing motes are floating in the air.
both Caleb and Essek are depicted barefoot and wearing summer clothes: a darker well-tailored ensemble of short trousers and a short-sleeved shirt for Essek and a more rustic and earth toned combination of shortened slacks and a white shirt with rolled up sleeves for Caleb. Essek has dark gardening gloves on, with a subtle rose print on them, while Caleb's hands are naked. the soles of their feet and their forearms are smudged with dirt.
Essek is resting his chin on Caleb's shoulder with his eyes closed, while Caleb is slumped into his partner. his face is not visible, but judging from the position of his hair, he is hiding his face in Essek's shoulder. a tiny sliver of negative space between them is catching the setting sun behind them, and the filtering sunlight is creating a large glowing four-pointed flare over the darkened figures.
