Have found where Japanese families go on holiday. Hotel in Fujikawaguchiko is full of kids. Might be weekend and proximity to Tokyo. Might be that we've only been to wanky places elsewhere... Fuji-san unfortunately covered in cloud today
Onsen today. Every hotel seems to have them ranging from traditional to less so but I guess it counts as a pool for the * ratings. Strict nakedness and sex segregation. You get clean before going into a non chlorinated pool usually with a view. For most I think it's just a ritualised daily wash
Hard water denizen goes to soft water region on holiday and can't believe how long it takes to wash soap out of my hair

<packs for 2 week holiday> Told by wife, son and daughter I didn't have enough stuff in my case and we're only going to do one wash .... Time ... Half way through we've done 2 washes and as we're moving around my once lighter emptier suitcase is now stuffed with their overflow
Breakfast today. Yesterday's was more challenging. Fortunately over the road is the famous Omicho fish market so whatever you can't get for breakfast can be easily supplemented
Shinkansen today. Business class. Reserved seats but lots of space. Tokyo station somewhat insane but the platform and the train are chilled. And free WiFi

Not obvious the sending off makes a difference: defend with 10 behind the ball rather than 11
