I had a good run on Twitter. Still on the fence about BlueSky. It’s glitchy and there is less interaction. Perhaps I just miss many people from the early days of Twitter that are not here. Accounts are less active here as well. Maybe we’re all just tired of the growing fascism. Life is less fun now.

I lost all my books in a fire that incinerated my house last year. I’m finally starting to rebuild my library of 35 years. I lost books signed by writers I admired, from Richard Feynman to Anne Rice and Julia Child. Please post book recommendations for restarting my library. Thank you in advance. 📚

I am with you. We are not celebrating and will not even do an obligatory BBQ. Going to watch a horror movie that will be more uplifting than the fascist regime trying to destroy our country. Crying might be inevitable. I’m dreading the day.

I am unbelievably depressed about this year's Independence Day. All I want to do is sit listening to Paul Simon's "American Tune" (the new version he sings with Rhiannon Giddens) and cry.

Who remembers Aunt Crabby on Twitter? I miss her great posts and her humor. The hardest part of leaving Twitter was leaving people I knew in real life or only on Twitter, who passed away. Not being able to revisit their posts hurts a little when I log onto this new site. Oligarchs ruin everything.😔

Today was a harsh lesson to learn a local sheriff supports illegal Jan 6 ICE cosplaying killers. He made lame excuses and would change the subject when I mentioned Minnesota. Read my thread below. I do not feel safe. The irony, he had a Hispanic last name. I can’t process this.

Quick little update. I recently had to make a call to the local sheriff. First call, they were rude lacked professional empathy required in dealing with the public. The sheriff receptionist answering the phone actually hung up on me after i told her I was scared in the situation I called about.

Hockney invited me into his home and studio. He was gracious and humble. I sat on that red wall in this painting, like sitting inside a painting. Giant paintings, his works in progress, hung in his studio. I was in awe. I’m forever grateful to David for sharing his art with me. RIP, David Hockney.
