#TolkienTrewsday Week 182 and Amon Hen Art Challenge Week 3: Heraldry and Symbols “This is the Arkenstone of Thrain,” said Bilbo, “the Heart of the Mountain; and it is also the heart of Thorin.” It’s a movie thing, but I like how they made the Arkenstone a symbol for the King Under the Mountain.

Ainsi le mausolée d'Halsham au sud de Roos évoque-t-il le temple édifié à Sauron à Numenor. Plus troublant encore: les armoiries du caveau de la famille Sykes montrent une main, rappelant la main coupée de Beren que Tolkien fera figurer sur son emblème dans un dessin, ainsi que 3 joyaux.⤵️

Le mausolée d'Halsham, qui peut renvoyer au temple de Morgoth ou à la Minas Tirith du Beleriand où Sauron règne par la terreur.

Dès l’enfance, ses premiers récits tournaient autour d’un « grand vert dragon », ce qu'on corrigea en « grand dragon vert ». Le philologue qu'il devint ne comprit jamais pourquoi, mais s’en souviendra assez longtemps pour faire du Dragon Vert la meilleure auberge de Belleau…🔽
