Today in 1953 the first episode of The Quatermass Experiment was broadcast onBBC Television. A mainstream drama series in prime time on the only TV channel available. It's a hugely important broadcast as the Quatermass serials influenced so much since. Like all the BBC's Quatermasses, amazing.
