Residents of our transitional housing program took a well-deserved break from their daily work in the kitchen and café to enjoy a special evening at the Oregon Zoo. Thanks to a generous donation of tickets, many experienced the zoo for the first time. We're grateful to the Oregon Zoo for this gift.

Artist Eva Wrzesinski is back in the cafe to draw portraits of our guests. Recently, she sat with Delonte, who stopped in for lunch and a backpack. He's an artist himself, looking for long-term housing. At the end of the year, we will have a gallery show with the portraits on display.

Blanchet House program alumnus David is still taking care of our community! He power washed our sidewalks this morning. David’s is now a member of the Clean Start crew with Central City Concern. 🤗 The program connects participants to housing and healthcare too.

Volunteers sorted 68 BOXES of clothing returns donated by Columbia Sportswear. Most of it was seasonally appropriate shorts, T-shirts, and tank tops, with a few coats thrown in. We will surely give it all away to our guests experiencing homelessness or poverty.

We need your help collecting new and gently used reusable water bottles. Donated bottles will be sanitized, filled with water, and distributed to guests at Blanchet House. If you can help, please drop off bottles at Blanchet House Mon-Sat, 8-10:30 am or 1:30-4 pm.

Our residents got to learn golf skills thanks to Jake Bader at Colwood Golf Course! Finding healthy ways to spend your time is so important part, and Portland's many affordable public golf courses make it a hobby they can enjoy. Thanks, Jake, for sharing your time and expertise!
