I'm a frontend engineer currently living in Germany. Rants and thoughts here but mostly upbeat in real life

Midway through a2.2 of German. Brain is exploding figuring all the rules of adjective declension. Kinda feel like I'm getting a hang of relative sentences. Realizing how much more simpler Malayalam is when it comes to the same grammar. Oh well... Continue to push through

Wife decided to go back half time to work and thought we could get what she normally earns if combined with elterngeld. Turns out there is a cap even for that. Doesn't even make sense to go back to work at all

Been only 2 weeks in India and my wife already just wants to go back to Berlin. She has realized home is now in Berlin and India is a yearly chore to appease relatives

Shopping in kerala is so annoying now. I'm asked for my phone number every time when I need to pay. Now so many stores are asking for Google reviews and expect it to be done immediately or start calling me if I don't do it the same day

Thought I was escaping the heat wave in Germany going to India. My home A/C is faulty and just old. Now dealing with Indian humid heat. Damn there is no escape from the heat

Watching these real estate videos from various Asian countries. Their definition of semi luxury apartment is very different from what u see in Germany. Almost all of them had swimming pools, fitness center and lot of common open space.

I've been trying out a food service that delivers meals that I just need to heat up. It has made my life so much easier. Just cook whenever I actually feel like doing it a couple of times a week

I wish the Indian visa website looked a bit polished. Are we this bad at ux. Also the form validation is confusing. Can't we do govt websites much better. We could desperately use a design system so all govt websites have a similar experience

Downloaded black myth wukong thinking it's some game like witcher. Barely managed the first boss fight and realized it's souls like game. Deleted. I don't need the stress

Netflix was great but overtime diluted cinema experience. I remember as a kid of how much we would talk about an upcoming movie or recently released movie for weeks. Now content stays relevant in a conversation for like 2 weeks and it's already outdated.

I could get used to parental leave. Not thinking about work, not chasing any tech/ai news. Just relax, take care of the kid, chores, do some activities out of interest and some workouts

My copy of the final space comic is on its way. Been waiting for 2 years. Can't wait to read how the remaining story unfolds. Really hope someone brings this show back to life

Dhurandhar was a bit too long. It's like a 8 part miniseries shown on 2 episodes. Was done well. Did not feel the usual corny feeling I get from Bollywood movies. Action was done well. A bit too violet for my taste. Luckily I could pause and skip the gory parts
