"It is indeed a delicate balance indeed. You want to believe people are not a threat, but sometimes being too trusting can stab you in the back..." He nodded. Luocha understood it well, and he wasn't even bothered by it. Not that much, at least. A soft chuckle left him at the General's words.

"I'll admit that caution comes with the office. The rest..." His gaze drifted elsewhere for a moment before returning. "...comes from wishing to believe the best in people without being foolish enough to ignore what is before me. It is a difficult balance to strike."

"I suppose, but I must assure you that I do this because helping people has always been my calling," He chuckled softly, somewhat caught off-guard by Jing Yuan's words. "Oh? I am glad to see them both happy with their treatments and getting themselves back on the path of recovery."

Jing Yuan's lips pressed into a faint, weary smile. "Perhaps not, though gratitude ought not be offered only when it is expected." His gaze drifted briefly to the paper-wrapped bundle of herbs in Luocha's hands before returning to the physician himself.

This was something Luocha had retained from when he was still human. The desire to help and to heal others, not for money or ego, but to see people get better, to save lives and restore vitality. Sure, now he was considered shady by a lot of people, but even then, his intentions were noble.

Some time had passed since the last time he had laid eyes on @bloodstainediris.bsky.social, though the memory of that meeting remained fresh in his mind. Through Dan Heng, the General had come to learn of the aid Luocha had extended without so much as a complaint.

"You are a kind hearted woman, a rarity." Luocha handed over the cup of juice and slice of cake to Khamorosha, helping her sit up slowly so she can consume it. He would do the same for Dan Heng, before moving away to clean up around them and let Blade watch over them.

"I would do it again in a heartbeat." She murmured, smiling softly as she looked at Blade and Dan Heng. "I would never let my friends suffer if there was a way for me to stop it." A wholehearted promise.

Whilst Kham was calmed, Luocha kept working, checking on both Dan Heng and Kham herself, just to make sure everything was going well. The whole procedure took less than an hour, and once everything had completed, he removed the needles and pressed gauze over the tiny wounds.

Eyes snapping open and instantly widening when she felt hid hand on her arms, she teared up, smiling. Emotional Kham. A silent nod followed.

Luocha worked swiftly but professionally. He carefully sanitised Kham's arm before carefully inserting the needle that was attached to some tubes and the machine. Don't ask how he obtained the machine. He did the same for Dan Heng with the sanitising and needle insertion.

Kham took a deep breath and laid down where she was supposed to, hands trembling as she anticipated what was about to happen. Looking at Blade at Dan Heng, she offered them a small smile. "I'm ready."

"Don't worry, just relax and we'll be done on no time at all," Luocha nodded, smiling warmly. He'd already set up the area for the transfusion, so he guided Khamorosha to where she could lay down comfortably, before indicating Blade to help Dan Heng into the other side.

Nodding politely as he was introduced, she shook his hand. "Khamorosha." A quick introduction, laced with a huge amount of stress. "I... Just do it. Tell me what I need to do and do it." She ordered sternly.

Dan Heng nodded. If Kham was willing, then he would not stop her. Luocha was just waiting patiently for the answer about the transfusion. Mentally planning what he needed for said transfusion, and how much cleaning he'll need to do. And a recovery plan for Dan Heng to rest and eat iron-rich food.

Right, Dan Feng. He'd get a message out to him. Blade's expression remained unchanged, though his attention sharpened at the mention of the compatible species. He glanced briefly toward Dan Heng, as though silently confirming they were thinking of the same person. Khamorosha.

"You should warn the older dragon about it. Everyone else is unaffected by the poison, but he is a Vidyadhara too... there is a chance that if they are aware of him too, he may be a target as well..." Luocha nodded, sighing softly as he glanced back to Dan Heng. "Unfortunately..."

A flicker of blind rage was smothered quickly, resolving to deal with it at another time. The immediate priority remained treating Dan Heng's condition. "...I'll look into it." His voice was level, devoid of warmth. The promise was understated, but no less absolute for it.

Luocha nodded, looking to Dan Heng, who was thinking very hard about it. The dragon blinked, cursing softly. He had received some tea that he'd ordered. A special blend that he usually got, that could only be obtained in the Scalegorge. "Someone must have tampered with the tea he ordered..."

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵? Dragonsbane? His brow furrowed, combing through the events of past few weeks, though nothing stood out that made much sense. There were a handful of figures from the Xianzhou on the planet. Two Generals, Fugue, Dan Feng... But none of them would have— No.
