Progress from the last two days! Refurb/polish on a fun collar, and then continued working on the new handle collar! Got it all stitched and working on properly fitting the buckle clamshell. Should be nearing completion tomorrow! #furry #leatherwork

Immediately pivoting into the other re-do project, the handle collar! Hammered out a ton of progress on this today. Got the liner fully finished and got the top strap cut, beveled, oiled, sanded and dyed! #furry #leatherwork

This thing put up quite the fight at the finish line; 6 hours of final detail work like grommets, accents and fitment later (along with many re-do's) and it's completed! Need to order one piece of hardware for it (only had nickel on hand) and then do photos! #furry #leatherwork

Finished with this muzzle! It's an absolute beast, and the most complex project I've ever done! There was -so- much to learn with this, from the design to the form to all the small details. There were many new challenges, and I look forward to more like it! #furry #leatherwork

Got everything re-burnished and finished, and the edges coated in Resolene acrylic sealer! I left the muzzle without a sealer as this leather didn't like it and looks much better without. This photo representst about 7 hours of burnishing and finishing! #furry #leatherwork

Lots of progress today! Got the new straps stitched, punched, and detailed. Fitted everything up and got some of the sizing placements for the vertical strap done. Need to finish up doing all the buckle holes on that strap and then it's time for detailed finishing!

Daily project update! Liners being finished up, trimming the excess wrap material and getting everything flat and even. Then worked on putting the finish and final burnish on the collar handle!

Daily progress! Tested out some new custom made brass friction washers for the harness, and got 3 rounds of burnishing done on the collar handle! Then finished up the cored liners for the muzzle's replacement straps. #furry #leatherwork

Back to customer projects today! Continuing the re-do on the muzzle straps and while the dye is drying, I turned my attention to this collar handle. So much sanding! Got the handle all put together and biased (tension between the layers so it's stiff) and rounded off, then dyed!

Daily progress! Finished up the details on the buckle holes for a collar, experimented with recessing the hardware on the plate for the chest harness and continued work on measuring/shaping the collar handle! #furry #commsopen

Got the rest of the buckle holes punched! Working on making a bit of darker patina across the holes, to give a jump-start on the 'well used' effect! It will lighten up as the dye dries, and should blend nicely!

Some shots of the stitching! The channels ended up good, but I would cut them shallower if used on a customer's project. This was a great experiment and makes for a good prototype!

Working on posting WIPs more! Progress from today! Got the handle for the collar started, going for a 1.25" width instead of 1" to better match the size and stature of the customer. Then also experimented with how the straps need to work on the harness, plus a shot of the buckle and placement!

4 years later, I've finally made my own collar! It uses all the fursuit-safe methods I've developed until now. Each piece of leather was cut, dyed and burnished by hand, and every piece of brass hardware was polished to a mirror finish, one by one. Find more in my bio links!

A beautiful alligator leather belt that I finished recently! This was my first time working with alligator, and it was an amazing learning experience. The back of the belt is lined in black deer-tan cowhide for extra comfort and strength, while still being soft and flexible!
