In the 2016 campaign, Trump insulted Ted Cruz's father and his wife. At the time, Cruz was pissed and fired back, but once Trump became the GOP nominee, Cruz was suddenly fine with. For Republicanism, party loyalty is the single most important factor. So this tracks.

The website still says 14. One of the service members not being counted is Sgt. Angel Sarah Rampersad from Queens. She was married to a woman she met in the Army, and one of our podcast listeners pointed out that fact was not acknowledged at a recent memorial service. So I am acknowledging it here.
