News, governance, and politics in and around Culpeper County, Virginia. Let's see how this goes.

You might note to everyone that Todd Blanche has been recorded stating that administration policy is to impose the SCOTUS Dobbs decision permanently on every state. And he'll be in a position to force that if he is confirmed.

Missouri voters killed a GOP move to change the process for ballot initiatives. A constitutional amendment would have required ballot initiatives to gain majorities in each congressional district instead of across the state. It failed 80-20 - IN EACH OF MO'S CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS!

68 years ago, scandal caused Kansans to scrap direct election of their Supreme Court justices for a merit-based system. Kansas Republicans, who hold supermajorities in the legislature, want a return to elections. Voters soundly defeated the move on Tuesday.

Judge Amit Mehta, who sentenced Stewart Rhodes, Yale Law grad and Oath Keepers founder, to 18 years for Jan 6 sedicious conspiracy (remember the weapons held in Alexandria), has reluctantly yielded to the DOJ by dropping the indictment and wiping the conviction off the books. Like it never happened.

In legal language, all that Blanche did was put in writing his delaration that the slush fund was dead. It did not alter the "agreement," for any modification requires the writtwn consent of all parties - DOJ, DJT, DJT Jr, Eric and the other named parties. So, Tillis & Cornyn bought smoke & mirrors.

So, Blanche caves on the slush fund. Now, let's get lawyerly here. In reports, he does NOT give up on what El Gordo REALLY wants - immunity for past tax fraud. Will Tillis & Cornyn fold? My money says that tgey will take the fig leaf. That a bet I'd love to lose.

What are the chances? The Ecuadorian prosecutor investigating the extrajudicial homicides on small boats carried out by US military forces (aka, "the drug boats") is murdered in broad daylight with her assigned police detail nowhere to be found. Just plain unlucky, I guess. A shame.

The staggering strategic failure with Iran highlights the emptiness of Popgun Pete's approach to war. Elevated testosterone might help in an individual one-on-one close-in knife fight. Skirmishes, battles, and wars are won using clear, well-trained brain power, not pull-up reps. I present Hormuz.

As we approach the midterms, bear in mind the squandered military munitions, the no-bid, massively overrun vanity construction contracts, the cuts in SNAP and Medicaid assistance, the Epstein fiasco, the nullifiction of your vote, and the failure of the GOP Congress to do ANYTHING about it. VOTE!

Internet-exposed automated water supply systems in 7 states, including Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, suffered cyber attacks. While intelligence assessments fingered Iranian-linked hackers, El Gordo knows better, blaming it on...wait for it...MINNESOTA! Of course! How could intel be so wrong?

This person's greed is boundless. Truth API (early access to El Gordo's online rants) costs up to $100,000 per month. Even Disney+ isn't that expensive. It's a great way to mimic inside trading information. And it might even be technically legal - sort of. More market manipulation?

OMG, now, with no plan, no strategy, and no idea of what they are doing, senior "leadership" at DOD can think of nothing better than to waste more munitions making Iranian rubble bounce higher while invoking biblical phrases on social media. Pray for those they are putting in harm's way.🙏

Vlad the Impaler must have El Gordo on speed dial. Nary 48 hours after announcing the intent to license Patriot manufacturing to Ukraine, Maximum Leader hems and haws on the deal. Remember, El Gordo's verbalizations are worthless. Watch what the Evil Inner Circle does

Harry Litman and Ben Meiselas recently discussed the MAGA (Jim Jordan) demands for the special counsel repots on Hunter and Joe Bidenn noting that the Knight 1st Amendment Institute is using that as precedent for demanding release of Jack Smith's Vol 2 report on Mar-a-Lago classified documents case.

HCR commented on the new CNN poll that put El Gordo's approval rating right at what it was after Jan 6: 34%. That's considered his absolute minimum hard core MAGA base. On specific issues (economy, Iran, etc.), he tanks even further. GET OUT THE VOTE! And Todd "Epstein" Blanche is in trouble.

And now the clown show hits the suburbs. There's a $22 billion proposal to give Dulles Intl Airport a Mar-a-Lago do over, with El Gordo personally reviewing the plans. Shades of Hitler and the New Berlin. There will be plenty of glass & gold, we're told. How many school lunches are in $22 billion?

Alex Jones...YES, THAT Alex Jones... is calling for El Gordo's impeachment or removal via the 25th Amendment. I guess he's figured a way to monetize that better than slavish pandering.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the regime will help fund the billionaire's tax cut by reducing the federal subsidy for Medicare Part D (prescriptions). Stand by, Old Goats, you're going to pay more for medications. You're welcome, Elon.

A 3-judge panel in the DC Court of Appeals refused to halt El Gordo's EO restricting mail-in ballots, but only on the grounds that the suit was premature. They indicated that if the move is actually implemented, it would likely fail in court.

El Gordo has (yawn) run to SCOTUS to save his mail-in scheme - er, Executive Order. EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY! Irreparable harm to GOP control of Washington if Americans exercise their right to vote! Ya think?
