One of the biggest challenges I've had this offseason is separating #NYR analysis from Drury's nonsense and the fear he's going to fuck it all up again. NYR got better this offseason. That's objectively true. But there's a real fear w/Drury at the helm.

The replies on this are kinda funny. The same people who regularly complain about how #NYR manage their cap are the same people screaming Perreault hasn't done anything yet. This is how you improve the cap outlook - you take a calculated risk on a long term deal with a kid about to break out.

The Rangers should extend Gabe Perreault long term now #NYR #NYRangers https://blueseatblogs.com/2026/08/14/rangers-should-extend-gabe-perreault/

Scott Morrow re-signs with #NYR. 1 year, $850k. It's a two way contract, which is a bit of a surprise to me. He still needs to pass through waivers, so that doesn't change. Just surprised he took a lower AHL salary.

If, by the end of the 2026-2027 season, #NYR are running Smits-Fox, Gavrikov-Morrow, and Pettersson-Durzi as their pairs, then I'll be happy. Flip Gavrikov/Pettersson or list the pairs in a different order if you want. Point is this is a solid group of six that complement each other quite well.

One false assumption I see many making about the AI bubble is that when it collapses, people seem to think AI goes with it. That's not the case. Sure, some AI companies will fail. But AI won't go anywhere bc of the bubble bursting. AI changes w/ legislation and public outrage, not the burst bubble.
