Broke: groupwatching old anime through Discord streams (mundane, boring) Actually just fucking insane: recreating the living room experience by putting old anime on a CRT, pointing a camera at it to hide the low video quality, and groupwatching THAT instead (unique, expensive, genuinely stupid)

They even put fucked up enemy placement in the fucked-up minigame that has fucked-up controls, and put an unlockable outfit behind getting a high score in all 4 fucked-up minigames I'm convinced the Splatoon developers get off on making the playerbase suffer

Gaming is so funny, because while Tim Sweeney keeps insisting that games NEED online, hi-fidelity graphics, and generative AI to succeed nowadays, one of the most creative and stylistically robust games released this year... is just a Doom mod - the antithesis of everything he's been hyping up
