Bluethread is back, sorry guys for the interruption!

Okay, I like Blue Threads and its ability to handle Essay long threads. Useful for journalism, complex topics etc interface is bare but easy to navigate. Simply copy and paste your diatribe in one window and it died the rest. @bluethread.bsky.social

It seems like bluethread is unavailable at the moment. It's out of my power unfortunately as the pythonanywhere website (which hosts it) does not work right now. I hope it will come back soon

Hi! I've been pretty inactive the past few months and it's been a while since the last update, but I think it's time I continue to improve Blue Thread. Plus hashtags just arrived officially on Bluesky so I guess I could implement them

Il y a maintenant plusieurs, voire parfois plusieurs dizaines de threads envoyés quotidiennement avec @bluethread.bsky.social ! C'est satisfaisant de voir que ça sert aux gens, avec des profils assez variés. Ça parle d'aviation, de la situation de l'Ukraine, de recherche scientifique, c'est cool !

Hi! Please fill the ALT field when posting pictures on Bluesky. With Blue Thread, after adding a picture, click the ALT button to open a pop up window, and describe the picture in a few sentences. It helps visually impaired users to know what you're talking about. Thanks!

✨ Update v0.2.8 ✨ A few improvements for those who talk a lot 😁 - If you type a long text that exceeds the height of the input field, the field expends as needed - Same thing for the field where you enter the alt text, it expands as needed (up to 1000 characters). (1/2)

✨ Update v0.2.7 ✨ Mentions are there ! Whenever you add a Bluesky user (for ex @bluethread.bsky.social) in a post, it will create a mention to their account (as expected), if that account exists.

🎅 Oh oh oh! A little bonus update has arrived!

A bug prevents mentions to work, so this feature is disabled until it's fixed ! 😬 The other new features (links from urls, and better editing without removing the images) are still there 😊

I think I found what happens. Mentions to users are not working so please don't use them for now :( I'll update the app to deactivate that feature temporarily.

It seems if you add multiple links / mentions to users, it can sometimes cause an error, so please tell me if that happens so i can fix the bug ! 🤗

There haven't been lot of updates recently but a big one is coming in the next few days if everything works well. With that the main drawbacks should be fixed, and i think it will be really cool to use Blue Thread for a variety of use cases.

Next step is turning urls into real links. I just did some tests that were encouraging 👀

✨ Update v0.2.5 ✨ Sending image has been greatly improved ! - You can add bigger files, they will be compressed before being sent to respect Bluesky limitations (2000x2000, 976 KB). - Ne need to select all images at the same time anymore, you can add and remove images as you want in a post.

I have made some progress to implement image resizing and compression before sending them to Bluesky. This means you could choose large images, they would get compressed (client side) and be added in your posts. Until now they were simply rejected. (1/2)
