Woman's Breast Ornaments https://www.brooklynmuseum.org/opencollection/objects/47008

A breast ornament originally consisting of 3 parts (a-c). The larger of the two ornaments (36.929b) is called a "trapelakucha" (Mapuche). "Trapel" means chest or pecho (Spanish) and "akucha" (Mapuche) means pin or aguja (Spanish). This ornament is worn by women at the center of the chest with the pin attaching the two ends of the shawl. The smaller, narrower ornament (36.929a) is called "siküll" (Mapuche) and is worn on the side of the chest. Part "c" was lost/deaccessioned 1969 (see 36.929c)

CONDITION: Old mortar on back and edges and along one long edge on front. Tiny chips on rear edges. Glaze chip on one of the fruits.

Plate. Porcelain. Circular shape, concave form with slightly raised foot rim. The face is decorated with gilt and enamel work. The back is an undecorated, white surace. The center of the face has an enameled, stylized floral and geometric Asian motif. The outer ring has an enameled, stylized floral and geometric motif on a gilt background. Rim of plate has a gilt edge with an enamel and gilt, radiating pseudo cloisonne pattern with with an enamel and gilt pendant design below. Enamel colors consist of pinks,, reds, greens, and blue.The style of the plate shows an influence by Asian and Persian designs.

CONDITION - The overall condition is good. The plate has no visiable chips, cracks or repairs. A more detailed analysis is provided in the condition report locate in the object file.

Table lamp, bronze with leaded, stained glass shade. Lamp is supported on four feet connected to round base made up of twelve flower-like forms that continue upwards creating reeded shaft which terminates in bulbous leaf design with reeded top. Three electrical sockets on curved arms project above lamp on a bulbous shaft which holds shade. Shade is dome-shaped, predominantly green glass, and is held by a perforated round bronze cap with small knob finial; bottom consists of band of five rows of small rectangular pieces, central portion contains design of acorns and oak leaves, acorns are reddish color, leaves and background in shades of green, top of dome has band of four rows of square pieces of green narrowing course by course toward the center of dome which is an open ring that holds bronze cap.

CONDITION: Good, normal wear.
