Just finished reading ‘All Quiet On The Western Front’. It’s to my shame that it took me till aged 52 to read it but so glad I finally did - even though it was confronting and horrific throughout.

Early days, long way to go yet, still a pretty much brand new team that’s coming together…all valid. HOWEVER…battering teams in terms of possession and chances but not turning that into goals is a concern. We should have been 3 or 4 up in this one by HT. But we weren’t and are paying the price now.

Southend last night. Wow. That was dominant, if it’s possible to dish out a 1-0 thrashing that’s what we did. It is just two games in, there are other good teams in this division. But I have this really weird emotion right now…I THINK it’s optimism. Feels fucking weird but I like it.

What’s hilarious is their whole bullshit take is they represent the silent majority, just saying what most people are thinking, not far right just common sense etc etc. So why would it matter if they said these things if that was the case? Why not just have it all out in the open?

Activists are being told to avoid drinking and Tweeting because its own members are “the biggest threat to Reform”. bylinetimes.com/2026/08/11/r...

Fucking hate these big monster cars. If you’re genuinely lugging tools and supplies to a building site and/or have to drive off road in rough terrain then I suppose they serve a purpose. But purely for on the school run, office commute or trips to the shops? Just ridiculous.

“Here’s what we found: Every additional 100kg of vehicle weight was associated with a 6% increase in odds of pedestrian fatality. Every additional 10cm of height was associated with an 11% increase in odds of pedestrian fatality. The relationship was even stronger in lower-speed environments.”

Bit of an observation with the Clacton by-election playing out back home I’m an Essex man who left full time education at 16. I like football and beer and Oasis. In the eyes of many on the left who read the Guardian they’d learn that about me and just think I’m scum without actually knowing more.

We are at a precipice. Either UEFA acts boldly and acts NOW or international and top level club football will be lost forever to money men and oligarchs and we’ll never get it back.

Totally agree that Argentina shouldn’t be punished for their players holding that banner after the semi final. However now that precedent has been set by FIFA I think it should be tested….

First 10 minutes like that would have been fun. But not the whole half. Ref is just shit, not claiming bias especially - just rubbish. Needs to get a grip.

Spain suffocated France up till they went 2-0 up. But what shocked me was after that when Spain dropped deep and you’d expect France to throw the kitchen sink at them - and that never came.
