Hear me out. Carnegie but it’s about Dolly Parton and a heck of a lot more fun.

Just a quick shout-out to @boardgamehottakes.bsky.social for their “Beat the Experts” tournament. I (Chris) snuck in as a participant and had a great time! #boardgames #games
In today’s podcast episode we talk about some of our favorite examples of resource economies used in board games. Listen here: open.spotify.com/show/6VvgX2F... #boardgames
Air Land & Sea is an exciting 2 player lane battler. One of those games that can make you feel really clever. The option of when to concede a round is excellect.
Pioneer Days is a hidden (and unfortunately out of print) gem. Great streamlined dice drafting engine builder
The Pirates of Maracaibo is superb. My favorite sub 60 minute tableau builder.
Nana / Trio is not a very interesting game to me. I’d recommend skipping it for so many other more interesting card games.
Fliptoons Season 2 continues the light deckbuilding fun of the original. I think it plays best standalone rather than mixing it with season 1.
Blue Lagoon is a brutal masterpiece. About half the moves you take will be about blocking other people.
Friend of the show Andy Schwarz has his new game up on Backerkit. I played an early version and liked the direction it was heading so I backed it. A shedding game with special powers that you unlock as you win tricks. Cool stuff.
Skybirds is finally going into physical production in a very limited (50 to 100) run. The game will be on sale at SDHC over Veterans Day weekend, or can be ordered (soon!) from Backerkit. www.backerkit.com/c/projects/e...

Played Space Base and Sea Salt and Paper with my parents today. They don’t like learning new games so I’m glad they already love some of my favorites.
I covered Railroad Tiles on this week’s podcast episode. I realized that nothing about it ‘sounded’ interesting after covering it, but after another play I can say it still has a special kind of magic that puts it above a lot of light tile laying games that seem similar.
Last Will is the lightest Vladimir Suchy game I’ve played. Would be interesting to see some more designs of this weight from him.
In today's podcast episode we discuss 9 board games we've played lately including Wingspan Pocket by @stonemaiergames.com, Stationfall, Trio, and many more. Listen here: spotifycreators-web.app.link/e/663I2VW2s5b #boardgames
I'm going to die on the same hill. Recent discussion on Discord after saying the same exact thing on an episode:
someone please explain to me why bgg has an entry for Crokinole (a sport) but not an entry for Pool (same sport).
Turns out it’s really freaking good. Better than I expected and I had high hopes. Disclosure that I received a review copy but I’m hoping my regular game group will play with me again this week. Cool tableau builder with strong player interaction.
Learning Ants by @capstone-games.com. This was on my list of must play games at the start of the year.
Ada’s Dream is a lot. But I think it’s worth it.

Got to play 2 of my top 10 favorite games tonight. That’s a great game night even if I didn’t mean to invite Klemens Franz and he crashed the party.
In today's podcast episode we each discuss our top 10 favorite games at this time! Listen here: spotifycreators-web.app.link/e/12HtDlzii5b #boardgames
I agree - it is super!
700 Games 1 Year Game #432 - Reforest Picked this up after it got a recent mention on the wonderful @boardgamehottakes.bsky.social Wingspan meets Forest Shuffle in this superb tableau builder. Got me hooked! #boardgames #play #boardgamegeek
dnup is another great card flipping game from the maker of Scout.
Gunsen: The Battle for Toshi Rambo is likely the most forgettable name in all of board gaming but one of the snappiest asymmetric troops on a map games that exists. Ben Rosset and Matthew O’Malley once again show us that games play quicker than you ever expected from that genre.
In today's podcast we continue our summer countdown of our favorite games with numbers 11-20. We also announce a board game contest that will allow 2 contestants to win $100 gift cards to Game Nerdz. Just a few spots still open! Listen here: spotifycreators-web.app.link/e/VpfB0PaJ64b #boardgames
A cool weekend at #sdcc this weekend including an epic Marvel hall H experience but my favorite part was chatting with the handful of small board game designers and publishers that showed up to demo their games.
Don't go there. Never go there. This also refers to the internet in general. Large masses of people sharing their opinions are almost always disappointing.
every time i look at the board games subreddit i take severe psychic damage which is one of the many reasons im just going to stop making videos for a good long while.

Where do you stand. If you listen to our show you already know my take.
You’re either with Klemens Franz art or against it there’s no middle ground. And I am firmly WITH!
