bo, 31 | i do character design, worldbuilding, gamedev, music production | also a ttrpg and baseball fan but mostly i just draw or shitpost
feels funny realising how rarely i listen to music from before the mid-90s or so despite a lot of my favourite genres originating from the 70s and 80s i think keeper of the seven keys part 2 is the only pre-1990 album i've given a first listen in over a decade at this point
sketchin a cat fella, he's a character from my current project but also i'm rolling him up in a d&d campaign his design's ended up completely different from the original doodle aside from the mask and staff
this past week has been my most productive gamedev week (by combined length of changelog entries) since last november, and all after not touching this project in months because i couldn't find the motivation pretty epic
one day i'll boot up tomodachi life again and all the houses will be derelict and there'll be like 22 gravestones in the plaza
midweek was horrid but this proved to be relatively good timing for these tooth problems to happen world cup was a good distraction during the worst of it/when i had no motivation to do anything, and deltarune has been like the perfect recovery game to lift my spirits again
having tooth problems that make it painful to eat at the same time as a heatwave sure is a shitty time past day or so has mostly just been laying in bed with a fan on, with no appetite and barely any energy to actually do stuff
i'll get to chapter 5 eventually but last year taught me that pushing myself to rush through a game on day 1 just to avoid spoilers will only taint my enjoyment of it
realising what i've missed most of all with messing with settings and such is having one where the setting exists for the sake of itself, rather than existing mostly to serve a game concept that is to say maybe i'll focus more on lophendoryne rather than the new project i started last week
ugh i hate this tendency i've developed lately to stress out a lot and get super self-conscious when it comes to sharing my stuff in spaces where it could potentially be seen by anyone other than close friends, on top of general fear and paranoia over my health and wellbeing
realising as with every other attempt at a sona i've made in the past i don't feel like this eye-snail fella really fills that role anymore but hey he gets to remain my pfp until i have a new one i wanna use
concept doodle for this new project - a race of generic apathetic guys who mostly just stand around and do nothing interesting, and talk in a deadpan and unserious manner
ah, the classic "motivation hitting when i'm tired" generally feeling positive though, thoughts are gradually coalescing into something i'm looking forward to developing into an active project
realising it's been months now since i actively worked on a project/setting/etc, and now the urge is growing but i just don't feel particularly drawn to any of my previous ones and the smaller self-contained concepts i've come up with more recently just aren't what i'm after
sometimes i wonder how much of an influence music is in the works of non-musician creatives, because for me it's basically always been the single biggest source of inspiration for my creative works, be they worlds, stories, or character concepts
game where the player character is already fighting in the main menu and you have a limited time to hit new game and control the fight otherwise they die and you get a game over
identifying the brits among the artists i follow by seeing who posts about the heat
me when i'm a fetchland and wotc needs to up their quarterly earnings
elsen smoking a fat blunt while talking about how smoke is the first and most important of the four elements
"no, i'm not a human" sounds like the name of a quirky rpg about being otherkin, or perhaps an isekai about a creature transported into a world where they're human
my personal hater arc is whenever i see posts shared in my feed from accounts who exclusively repost memes and such in big long threads i never hit like even if the post is very funny
standing around in the yd freehold, aggressively pointing at the newfather my current save decided to put there as a citizen for some ungodly reason, and shouting "dude is this shit allowed? can someone do something about this guy??"
really hate this thing an increasing number of uk news sites do where instead of giving you the popup to accept/reject optional cookies normally they force you to either accept all cookies or subscribe
that one "hitler dead" photo but the headline is edited to say "HITLER... RED?" and the soldiers reading the papers have inquisitive expressions
truly a magical feeling seeing your comm in the collage an artist uses to advertise that they're currently open for comms
"separate the art from the artist" commonly misunderstood, actually refers to the fact they are often so engrossed in making art they forget to take food breaks and you should help them avoid malnourishment
