International singing/songwriting vagabond. Lover of toast and tea. Hater of cabbage and fascists.

The scene in Pretty Woman where they are on the piano pisses me off. She puts her feet on the keyboard and then steps on them. The piano tuner in me is like - NO!! I was tuning the piano at the Hyatt in HB and about a decade ago someone danced on it and fucked up some of the keys-still messed up!

I just did my first guest appearance on a book club. I had no idea how much fun that would be! I had no idea what to expect and was really surprised by the questions that came up. People getting their own bit out of it and that leading to new connections and conversation. #toomanymilesbook

there is nothing normal about my dreams. Had a bizarre one about being booked to play @taylorswift's bridal shower and trying to talk her out of booking me. Even in my own dreams - I'm like "Are you sure you want me?"

It’s, for lack of a better word, IMPRESSIVE how KISS perpetually disappoints its fans by being soulless in their pursuit of money. When Gene said “Other bands wanted to be The Beatles, we wanted to be Coca-Cola.” Believe him.

Hey everyone, I'm excited to share something with you all. It's still new and not released yet but @nebulavoid.com has a video game called FALLENSTAR. Tracy and I have given our blessing to them sharing the name with us and they're cool folks and the game looks really interesting. Dig. Yo.

Sometimes I feel like I do the hard sell and push my music on folks too much and then I see video of the current POTUS walking world leaders thru his maga gift shop as they exit the Oval Office and I’m like - fuck it. Nothing matters.

People think I’m joking when I say I dream about playing hockey a couple times a week but I’m not. Last night I put on no. 35 and I think I was playing for the Minnesota Wild because of the colors but I didn’t care where I was as long as I was between the pipes.

I never had any kind of opinion about spices or who made them. (I don’t care what Frank Herbert says about it flowing) But here’s the thing- one spice company came out as ant-fascist and now I am a big fan of Penzeys. Northwoods Fire is fantastic on salmon and shrimp. Had it tonight.

There are many pressing concerns in the world currently. This is not important in the scheme of things but I would like to suggest that 10,000 Maniacs “in my tribe” get remastered sometime in the next few years.

Question for my creative friends - is the general state of the world make you burned out on performing before you even start? I have this feeling that, no matter what I do, there will be red hat folks in the audience and frankly, they don’t deserve my entertainment.

So… rushing around to see if I can empty the dishwasher in the 2:33 seconds while my tea is steeping is some kind of ADHD thing? I suppose you’re going to tell me my hyperfocus is part of it too.

I cracked a rib about 15 years ago playing hockey. Didn’t require any surgery or anything. The Dr asked when it happened. I told him 2 weeks ago. He said “don’t play hockey for 6 weeks.” I said “6 weeks?” He said “ok at least 4 weeks with the previous 2 not counting.” Some days it still hurts.

I don’t get jealous of other musicians fame or success but I have found myself jealous of the band First Aid Kit because they have been raising families and still working as musicians and I know that it’s only possible because they live in a country with universal healthcare who cares about the arts

There is so much absolute beauty in the world; music, art, nature, people - that it is such a theft of our talents, time and energy that we have to spend our days fighting the fucking Nazis that have taken over our government. It is a crime against humanity it the fullest sense of that statement.

Learned a new word today: Defenestration /dēˌfenəˈstrāSHən/ noun 1. formal•humorous the action of throwing someone out of a window. "death by defenestration has a venerable history" Who knew?

Just read an article about how "Boomers setting up a showdown with Millennials over house ownership." or roughly something like that. Read the whole article and you know what generation wasn't mentioned at all? Gen X. We really don't exist do we?

I don’t know about you but I am feeling really strange. The USA hasn’t always been the “good guy” in history but we always put up the front of being the good guys - it was part of our brand. We had ideals that we didn’t live up to but the current Admin is like “yeah, these were never our ideals.”
