#EmancipationDay is observed across former British colonies on Aug 1 to mark the date in 1834 when slavery was abolished. Chattel slavery first existed in ON when Loyalists came here after the American Revolution, and enslaved people were forced to work as unpaid labour.

It was written a few years ago which is a pity because I would have loved to read what he thinks of the world currently and the various new players since he wrote this fine book. Interested in politics read this book . It is a must.
