Connecticut Senate Majority Leader

Yeah the economy sucks, our national debt is out of control, prices & interest rates keep going up, the world hates us, & Hegseth’s spending our money like he’s a 19 year old on shore leave after a long deployment, but Melania is planning an awesome State Dinner & will post pics.

Higher gas prices have caused Connecticut drivers to pay $1,000,000 more per day. Diesel is at a record high, Trump’s own Fed raised interest rates because inflation is so bad, home heating oil is unaffordable, and the oil supply could be constrained even further because of the illegal Iran War.

Really enjoyed door knocking in Fairfield with Rob Blanchard who is the Democratic candidate for the State Senate. He is working hard and will do the same for the people of Fairfield, Easton, Newtown, and Bethel as their senator.

Keeping kids healthy starts with keeping them protected. A Connecticut court just upheld our school vaccine requirements, ensuring students can learn in a safe and healthy environment. This is a win for Connecticut families and public health.

Glad to see a 30% increase in ridership with the Norwalk Transit District. We’re working with them to fund expanded routes, micro transit, and better service.

Trump couldn’t bother to show up to the 9/11 ceremony in NYC on Friday, but he had no problem going to the MAGA convention in Dallas Wed & Thur and then flying to Ireland over the weekend on the taxpayer’s dime to attend a Trump golf course tourney. Maybe it is all about him.

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to the Hindu community. State Sen Maher and I attended the 13th Saraswati Pooja event in Stamford. An ancient cultural and educational tradition dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, who symbolizes knowledge, wisdom, and learning.

I said to Mayor Smyth, “Come with me, there’s something I have to tell you. “We successfully fought for a $4.7 million state grant for flooding relief in in addition to your $3 million city match. “Plus, $2.6 million in state funding to renovate the Broad River baseball complex.” 🪏 in ground 2027

Mayor Smyth, Rep. Travis Simms, Council Members Darlene Young & Jan Degenshein, and local clergy celebrate the completion of $3 million of state funded improvements for the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Corridor Initiative This state investment is making a real difference.

Honored to receive the 2026 RisCassi-Koskoff Civil Justice Award. Working to ensure all people in our state have access to the courts, to justice, and due process is something that free societies have to constantly check in order to maintain our rule of law and confidence in our democracy.

After 2 postponements because of rain delays, the Brien McMahon Band & Guard was finally able to have their Friends and Family Night. The band is growing and the show for this fall sounds amazing. We were asked not to post pictures/videos of the performances, so you’ll have to see the show in person
