I think Labour was right to reinstate Abbott, but her speech last month shows why she should’ve retired long ago. She thinks that the toppling of Assad a coup and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is actually a NATO campaign against Russia and the the US is responsible for both. Such an insane worldview.

This is problematic reporting. Wagenknecht may once have been a figure of the (Stalinist) far left, but she’s long since left it, literally leaving Die Linke (the Left Party) to create a right wing crossover party, so BSW allying with the far right isn’t news and not a “horseshoe” move.

I believe none of Your Party’s 24 candidates in England have been elected. Of the groups they backed, Newham Independents have won 24 seats and Aspire in Tower Hamlets have kept the mayoralty but is still counting councillor votes. None of other groups they backed have got more than a couple seats.

#Lewisham council results are coming slowly. Greens have taken New Cross Gate so far. The Socialist Party’s front, TUSC, came last there with 73 votes (was an area with a small Socialist Party presence on the estates back in the 1990s).
I don’t know if I’ve ever had such a hard time voting as I do today. On one hand, it seems inconceivable to put a ❎ next to Labour, after two years of demonising migrants and accommodating the far right while keeping social policy locked in to harmful austerity.>>
