A lion walks with a thousand jackals just as a brave man walks with a thousand cowards.

Me: To all those Yeti-deniers out there, I can prove the Yeti exists. Them: How? Me: It says so here in my sacred book. Them: Who wrote the book? Me: A Himalayan yak-herder. 3,000 years ago. Them: In English? Me: Of course not. English didn’t exist. It was written in Zhang-Zhung. /1

Netflix just sent me a notification of their next offering: Seal Team. And it struck me that nobody gives a shit any more about all this childish American military posturing.

Trump abandoned Karoline Leavitt and the press corps on a plane he thought might be shot down by the Iranians, while he ducked onto another aircraft, huddled in a food cart with his inner circle of cowards. 24 hours later, MAGA Barbie quit the job. I think that's called the finding-out phase.

If a heavily-armed man claimed he was chosen by God, you'd run for cover and call him a lunatic. If a heavily-armed country claimed it was chosen by God, you'd call it Israel.

Things are going great for Trump's administration. So good that instead of talking about a booming economy, cheap groceries, cheap fuel and crushing victories against Iran, they dug up unfounded allegations against Anthony Fauci from seven years ago. They must be getting tired of all the winning.

1/ I would like to invade a land of my choice and dispossess its people, with the option to eradicate them should I wish. Unfortunately, however, I have not been chosen by God, which is a bit of a problem.

We went to see the Odyssey today. Definitely epic, but I could have done without all the American accents. And yes, I know the ancient Greeks didn’t sound English either but there must be some solution.

1/ As the biggest blockbuster movie in the world is based on Ancient Greek mythology, it seems appropriate to reflect on the relationship between hubris and nemesis, where outrageous insolent pride or excessive self-confidence ultimately lead to disaster.

Elon Musk is so well-read, he insists on a historically correct version of a story that includes a six-headed sea monster, a giant with an eye in the middle of his forehead, assorted Greek gods and a sorceress who turns men into pigs.
