We came back home to a jungle of runners, but since we refuse to contaminate the palate with huge stringy pods, it's much better to let them fully grow and pod them for the freezer. Delicious. OK you get fewer pods but we've too many anyway.🌱

I've been going on about these wretched cabbage white butterflies. So many are flitting frantically against the nets over brassica crops. The whites are now reduced to my wild cabbage plants and even cultivated rocket ,not to mention cultivated Rocket and even Diplotaxis muralis [wall rocket].🌱
Knapweed really does come into its own just now, not just for me but all the needy pollinators.🌱
This young robin is my helpful little gardening friend. It stomped around outside the netted cabbages which I used to protect the cabbages against cabbage white butterflies.🌱
With so many of my roses going over so quickly this year I 🌱value that Golden Star, Teasing Georgia, even more than usual as it keeps on blooming till the first frosts.
New woodshed ready for the winter, with space for processing and storing the wood and space to shred smaller bits. One area for green and unprocessed timber, the other for ready to use.🌱
Lychnis coronaria makes a delightful, long-lasting contribution to a container. I love its delightful little flowers.🌱
Enjoying the last pickings from the peach tree with a year to wait for the next batch! I find I get more pleasure from a crop when eating seasonally - looking forward to the first taste, appreciating the last one and looking forward to a new delight!🌱
This young robin worked beside me in the garden for a few days, following me to different places. I then saw him down a neighbouring fields and guess he must have been booted out of the garden by a resident adult. Shame!🌱

This ancient ash isn't affected by Ash Dieback Disease. From my observations on my own ground, really old ones don't seem to be, while young trees and saplings usually are.🌱
I mistook this Onopordum acanthium for Cardoon, the mini version of Globe artichokes. It has delicious but tiny fruits, not the generous heads of artichokes. Cardoons are good ornamentals, not edibles.🌱
