I have been traveling and today I present to you...the thing I saw in the Frankfurt airport. Is it efficient? Undeniably. Does it probably work better than the normal way? Oh certainly. Produce less of a mess? Probably? But the existence of Condiment Udders gives me a deep, aghast disquiet.

A hotdog and pretzel stand with large hanging bottles of mustard, ketchup, and mayonnaise. The bottoms contain squeeze tubes to dispense the condiments.

reminded of when they showed the very first PIXAR short to tech guys and they all asked “what program did you use to make it funny” and they had to very gently explain that it was the people that made it funny, not the code

It’s tiresome at this point, but again, their entire pitch is “wouldn’t it be great if there were no such things as talent, craft, and skill,” and what that means is a bland, slop-filled world. www.businessinsider.com/marc-andrees...

Didn't go to film school? Don't worry. Legendary investor and movie buff Marc Andreessen doesn't think that will be an issue for future creatives.

During an episode of "Monitoring the Situation," the podcast for the venture capitalist firm that Andreessen cofounded, A16z, he said advancements in AI technology — like OpenAI's Sora 2 — have made it possible for a new type of filmmaker to emerge.

"The filmmaker with no visual skill, or access to a set, or to a camera, or to actors, but with an idea," Andreessen said on Friday. "It's going to start with shorts and animated things and so forth, but it's going to work its way up to full movies."

There's something wonderful and funny about having a fandom in law. Like, I don't go here, but my friend does, so now I know random shit about F1 teams or wrestlers or kpop groups Then you see something about their brainworm and you bring it to them like a crow, like "I saw this and thought of you"

BY THE WAY If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2. There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security. Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation." TURN IT OFF.

"Text and image generation uses on-device AI technologies to quickly respond to requests. Turning this settings off will not affect apps and features using cloud AI technologies.
