This seems perfectly natural to many of them. But for the majority of human history, and for hundreds of millions of people today, it is like living a fantasy.

Water historian here. What the world needs (soon) is a desalination moonshot. We're going to need A LOT more fresh water. Desalination is very energy intensive. China's massive lead in renewable energy gives them potential advantage. But the USA or EU could conceivably get it done if they start now.

The Framers didn’t believe in a race-blind Constitution, so “originalist” justices can’t strike down the VRA on that basis and remain ideologically and theoretically coherent. Not that incoherence has encumbered this court.
