P2/1 worked together to try and make shapes using their bodies. We had to problem solve and work hard together to make different shapes. We managed to make a square, rectangle and triangle. We tried a few others too. 🔴🟦🔼
P2 working hard on their addition skills again today. To start off the lesson we reminded ourselves what addition and take away meant. We did sums physically by moving children and 1 child being an adding sign. Then we worked in pairs or by ourselves to practice some sums we made up. Fabulous work!
P1 working hard on their numeracy. We’ve been learning numbers to 10 this week focusing on number 7. What this looks like and how to write it. We’ve also looked at 10 frames and offend ways 7 can be made on the frames. This morning we used ‘noodles’ to make a ‘n’ sound and then practiced writing it!
Since we have been focusing on shapes we looked into Tessellation and tiling patterns a few weeks ago. Some children have been making their own during free play. Look how good these are!
We had so much fun junk modelling different famous Spanish landmarks today! ✏️✂️🇪🇸
We have also be working hard on our STEM topic - friction, creating parachutes with our DHS STEM ambassadors to explore air resistance
This week P1 will be working on the ‘n’ sound and the number 7. This morning we learned the song for ‘n’ and practiced writing them. Look at all the words we came up with. For the number 7 we looked at the number blocks and then practiced the formation of 7.
P2 are focusing on addition and subtraction and the ‘ow’ sound as in snow. This morning we had a silly ow song and came up with lots of words together! We then wrote words on our own practicing sounding out the words. We are also beginning to look at what a community is. Look at our ideas!
P7M enjoyed taking part in the Destination Judo taster session this morning. 😁
We have enjoyed building MacDonalds form blocks and serving our friends
Marble run has also been a big hit in class.
P7M were tasked to help classify and organise new school clothes as part of Maths Week Scotland. We learned that we had to work in a methodical manner. Each group took responsibility for different items and decided to assign roles to each other in order to work effectively. Look at our end results.🤩
Primary 3 enjoyed exploring the nature reserve yesterday and collecting data as part of our Maths Week Scotland activities! @bpsmrswhite.bsky.social
It’s been a busy week in P3. We have been exploring different maths strategies and using maths jotters for the first time. We also enjoyed a judo taster session, learned about owl food chains and enjoyed playing with our friends
Friday fun in P2/1. We have been exploring 2D shapes over the last few weeks. This week we started looking at 3D shapes! We’re beginning to remember shape names and some of their properties.
Primary 1 working hard on their numeracy skills. We focused on number 6 this week, we worked on showing 6 using the 10 frames.
In PE we have been focusing on our co-ordination skills and moving our bodies. This week we focused on rolling, throwing and catching a ball. P2/1 loved the warm up game, we pretended we had paint all over our hands and feet and were painting the hall.
P3 went on an animal hunt to find out which animals are nocturnal and which are diurnal!
P3 have been learning how to add and subtract 10 from 2 digit numbers. Today P3W enjoyed joining our friends from P3K to take part in a number hunt and show what we've learned!
