I post mainly about movies and the drudgeries of existence. Please enjoy my inane observations Pervert vampire film scholar and giallo enjoyer 📽️ He/Him

Just watched the Jackass episode where Johnny takes his grandma to the taxidermists and I completley lost it when he said "If your eyes don't look right we can just put on your sunglasses"

I'm going to the gym to exercise my body until it is the ultimate killing machine. I don't want to kill anybody, but that's just a side effect of having a strong and powerful body. I will do my best to not kill people with how healthy I am.

Funny how in the Dark Knight Batman uses immoral surveillance tech while his Batbuddies bemoan his descent into fascism and then he destroys his computers afterwards so that he won't do it again, but nice little fella Peter Parker casually does the same thing and it's totally fine, no biggie.

They made a good MCU movie! I'm not even saying that in the grading-on-a-curve "good for a MCU movie" way. Brand New Day is actually the good kind of good and I had no idea they still had this in them

Now seated for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. I haven't really liked a Spider-Man movie since the Raimi years, but I've heard nothing but good things about this one so my cautious optimism senses are tingling #Filmsky 📽️

It's impossible to not have mixed feelings about zoos, regardless of how well managed they are, but I still had a good time seeing all the cool animals yesterday

A couple of elephants! One is a cute little baby A weird tall horse or possibly a giraffe A rhino and her son who is almost as big as she is Flamingos who are doing the flamingo thing they do where they stand on one leg

I'm not usually around kids as much as I was today, and I didn't realize that children spend so much of their time open mouth coughing and telling their parents to look at things that are already right in front of them

Now watching The Silence of the Lambs. This was one of my favorite movies when I was younger and I saw it so many times back then that I think I've let a whole decade lapse since I last saw it #Filmsky 📽️

Another contributing factor to this were my aunts/uncles who pocket watched everyone. If somebody had a car/home/clothes that didn't meet their standards, they were ridiculed for being poor. If anybody had anything nice, that meant they were rich and stuck up and had it easy. You could not win.

The idea of spending a little bit of money (26 whole dollars!) on an experience that doesn't have a clear return on investment is so foreign to him. I wonder how I grew up with so much anxiety around money and a ludicrous sense of guilt over spending money on anything non essential

Just told my dad I was going to the zoo tomorrow and his response was "Why?" so I explained to him that people go to zoos to look at animals. Then he asked me how much a ticket costs and helpfully explained that it cost half that last time he took me several decades ago when I was a child.

Now watching The Goonies (1985). I feel like everyone my age loves this movie but I just don't give a shit about the dang Goonies. Some of my coworkers were acting like I was ridiculous for not liking it the other day, so I'm doing my best to open my heart and let the Goonies in #Filmsky 📽️
