The team are at the New Day Church market on Harris Road in Edenvale. Pop in and say Hello.
Some beautiful photos of some of the macaws in our care ❤️ The choice to have a parrot in your care should never be taken lightly- and remember they don't het to choose. #parrotRescue
Volunteering at Brainy Birds is not all about playing with the birds. Apart from socializing the birds and feeding, there's cleaning, gardening, fundraising and maintenance.
#help One of little fosters needs some love in this pet photo competition- Buddy is with one of our long time volunteers - Tracy chartwellcountryestates.co.za/pet-photo-comp…
Dee catching up on messages and enjoying the sun with some, um, "help"
New Aviary "ALCATRAZ" is ready for its new "prisoners" - built super strong for some of the macaws
Just another day at Brainy Birds - this time of year is always a weird one with lots of public holidays- while our flock's needs don't take a day off, we're super grateful for our volunteers that show up for our birds.
Brainy Birds are at the Rescue Expo today. Join them to help raise awareness and much needed funds . #theRescueExpo #fundraising
When feeding in the large aviary, you always run the risk of an aerial attack 😅 - many eyes watching. You also have to mind your step.
Another project underway. Our Cockatoo house is getting an upgrade. It was previously built using refurbished roll up garage doors. They've now been replaced by glass sliding doors like the other side, allowing more light even when the weather is bad. Thank you to all our supporters
When the volunteers colour coordinate with their favourite bird 🥰
The blue and gold macaws are definitely the most common of macaws sold in South Africa. Sadly being freely available also means too many people get them for the wrong reasons and they end up surrendered or rehomed over and over.
Busy busy, cleaning day at the sanctuary
Making sure the volunteers that are preparing chop don't slack off
Rainy season has started and our birdies could not be happier.
Spring time means gardening time. The flock is so happy the cold weather is over- and everyone is looking forward to some rain to wash away all that dust.
Because how dare the volunteers have a drink without us!!! We've had to start watermarking our pics as we found 2 pages and a group posting our content word for word as their own.
Whoop whoop Got toys 🥰🥰🥰 thank you Marianka from the Parrot Supplies Company for this treat.
