I recently found this drawing, dating back when i was at kindergarten, one of the first whale drawings i made... it's been a long way since then
Enigmatocetus posidoni, a peculiar and fragmentary small odontocete from the Miocene of North America, with puzzling affinities (shares traits with several unrelated odontocete families), some have commented that it would have resembled a kogiid+river dolphin like beast, with peculiar feeding habits
Maybe someday a Livyatan fossilized skeleton will be found....deep under the sea...
franz@franzanth.bsky.social Β· 2mo agoFinally, footage from that new whale graveyard. The fact that fossils and fresh carcasses mix together in this spot is bonkers. But of course it makes sense, because the scavengers that live down there also need a steady supply over millions of years. They can't just suddenly adapt to the deep.
A megatoothed shark about to gulp an entire baitball, at the time this was inspired by reports of large great white sharks full with small fish (Japan i think), for a shark 10m+ long it might have been an easy meal, again, this is pure speculation. #paleoart

This one was sold but i will have more available by the end of the month and hopefully a couple more genera of chonky tyrannosaurids (Albertosaurus, Nanuqsaurus and others?), more Hell Creek fauna as well. #paleoart
