My gothic romance science fiction/cosmic horror novella, "A Canvas Unending," is out today with Issue 2 of Quest Magazine! Ever wonder what Jane Eyre in space would be like? Now you don't have to wonder! The story also features original art by John Provencher! read.quest/content/a-ca...
The future is here. It probably hates you (even if Tenebrous and I don't). Become ungovernable. Bite back when it kicks you in the teeth. Draw blood. Remember when Gibson said, "The exceedingly rich are no longer even human." Fuck 'em. They don't see us as human either.
RELEASE DAY! Fast talkers, shady deals, violence is life. Bodily augmentations, broken dreams, endless promises. Bright streets, dark alleys, electric dreams, bullets & chrome. MIDWESTERN CHROME. @beardedbetts.bsky.social's vision of the future, OUT NOW. Art by AriBo. store.tenebrouspress.com
It is so crazy and so awesome how great the Godzilla comics have been lately.
Here is a weird thing about comics right now. Do you know who is actually practically a guarantee of quality storytelling in comics at the moment? Godzilla. I kid you not. For a long time in America, the Godzilla comics were mostly okay, meant to be fun, lots of monsters fighting. 1/

My dumb reason for never having read or been interested in Harry Potter... my ex invited me to her family's cabin with her family when the 4th book came out. She spent the entire time reading it, leaving me to hang with her family. I never talked to her or looked at the books after that.
The (stray) cat is out of the bag, so I can announce that all next month, I'll be hosting a screening series at the Stray Cat Film Center showing underseen Mexican horror movies from the 1930s through 1968! More info as it gets closer!
Need some spooky sounds? Check out "The Cadabra Tapes". 22 tracks, 100 minutes worth of eldritch ambience and horror electronics. Out now. Links in bio 💀
I was getting shoulder surgery, the surgeon wanted to keep me awake during it saying "too many doctors in this town want to put people under." Cut to me on the table witnessing a fight between surgeon and anesthesiologist. The surgeon lost...
A question from Reddit that I'll answer here: "What's the most unhinged thing a doctor has said to you with a straight face?"
BTW, using a platform like a newsletter to write an article about how great something is, and then advertise for said thing that you happen to sell, is not a great look. And I don't care what level in the org you are, there needs to be someone to read and approve what you wrote.
I read this book probably 25 years ago and I still think about the stories covering bands such as Mission of Burma, Butthole Surfers, Husker Du. I fully believe in if you have a good idea, make it happen. It's going to be someone's favorite thing.
This month is the 25th anniversary of my book _Our Band Could Be Your Life_. Fewer than 1% of all books remain in print that long. People still come up and tell me how it inspired them. It's been translated into several languages. The moral of the story: if you have a good idea, make it happen.
So honored to have a story in @weirdpunkbooks.bsky.social Katherine Dunn tribut anthology Shrieks in Cups of Gold! And look at that table of contents! There's some absolutely incredible writers in this! Hit up weirdpunkbooks.com to get a copy.
We coat every page of our books with a patented clear resin, harmless in low levels, that activates when a page is digitally scanned, releasing a generational curse on anyone who is using our books to train LLMs. Fear not, scholars and librarians have access to non-cursed editions.
Trying to start a discord group for women and non-binary writers of speculative (or just kind of strange in all genres) fiction. So we can encourage each other, etc. On the ground floor right now. If you want in, let me know, and I'll send you the link!
Our latest is out now! Come join me and Thomas, as we talk about his book THE FRANCHISE, one of the most memorable and fascinating books of the year. Come join us on Sley House Presents on all podcast platforms!
This was a fun conversation with @sleyhousepresents.bsky.social about THE FRANCHISE, Marx, writing characters who may or may not be intentionally ignorant about the world, and more. Check it out! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/e...
For lovers of Twilight Zone-esque horror tales with a twist: my new story “Lady Luck” will be featured in indie horror magazine The Bleeding Margin’s next issue! More news coming! 💀
On this episode of Matt's Magical Backyard, a fuzzy sticky caterpillar! I spotted this wriggly little friend as I was taking out the garbage. I told them I loved their spikes and lovely yellow fuzz. They sorta glanced at me, spit out a wad of gunk, and told me to sweep the driveway.

This makes me extremly happy to see after the news about Sam Neill. I'm going to miss him.
Oh my god there’s a short with him and Hugo Weaving taking a bath??
I have two books out that you might like! ...And Out Come the Toys is a punk grindhouse take on Willy Wonka. The Dogmen Fudge Incident is like an action movie but with the Dogman and squirt guns full of chocolate! It'd be rad if you checked them out! Links below, or DM for a signed copy.
