Loveable eldritch being, fairly shameless, but tries to be kind and nice to people. PFP: melled42@bsky.social

I love the Enshrouded guys. Support got back to me and apologized for taking 15 months to answer my bug report - honestly, I'm fine with them being too busy to actually *fix* the problems to respond to each of the presumably hundreds of reports about the same problem before the fix is in. ❤️

Facebook keeps nagging me to use my face or thumbprint to log in... like, bitch, I have no way to scan either, whether at home or at work. And I'm not getting a fingerprint scanner or webcamera, either. 😅

So, in case any hypothetical would-be sponsors made a deal with me through that site, no, you didn't. The whole damn thing is a scam that lists anyone whose public details they can scrape regardless of anyone actually registering an account with them. I am not accepting sponsorships at this time.

Hey streamers/influencers/artists/anyone with any social media presence: There's a site that's currently using your publicly available data to build fake sponsorship listings to ruin your reputation and potentially keep sponsorship money that you'll never see! Let's look at SocialDB ->

SocialDB's landing page

So a little while back, my Mage: The Ascension character killed the Most Beloved Seat of Forces under unusual circumstances. They say that when all you have is a hammer, all your problems start looking like nails. My Mage had a cactus; the problem looked like an immense asshole... 😅

Jeez, 47... Gotta admit, I never expected to get this old when I was a kid... Granted, when I was a kid, the Soviet Union was still around, and nuclear war seemed rather highly probable at any time...

The Enshrouded support team got back to me about a bug report today, letting me know that the 1.0 release likely fixed the issue. I suspect it was a different update in the *fifteen* months since I filed the issue that resolved it, but it's nice that they wrote me back. 😅

My first five ttrpgs in the order I played them: 1. Star Wars, West End Games version. 2. Dungeons & Dragons, BECMI version (1e). 3. Mage: the Ascension. 4. Runequest. 5. Call of Cthulhu. ...and that still puts me in the late 90s, with GURPS being next up. And then D&D 3.5 after that...

My first five ttrpgs in the order I played them: 1. Warhammer Fantasy RPG 2. Shadowrun 2e 3. Vampire: the Masquerade 4. Earthdawn 5. DnD 3.5 First 4 in the 90s, last one in 2006

Radio is Evil... On the bus home, the DJ said something about "playing old and classic songs"... And put on fucking Masterplan with Falling Sparrow - a song from 2005... 🤬

I've seen vibe coding referred to as "cuck coding", and that seems unfair. Cucks seem more particular about and knowledgeable about what is inserted where. Paparazzi coding seems more accurate. They watch, wait, and once they have something that looks viable, they publish what they saw done.

Welp, D&D today, my satyr sorcerer got an offer from a fae noble: a mighty weapon wrought from moonlight and glass, in exchange for what he didn't yet know he had... As a fae himself, he cast one glance at his tiefling girlfriend and replied a polite OH HELL NO! That one's too old to work on him. 😅

Welp, I know I occasionally gripe about my boss... But, she and her husband did me and Schnookums a solid today; they picked up the old, broken washer for disposal, retrieved the new one and helped install it, and even took along my old, broken dot matrix printer to scrap that, too. 😅

Boss gave me a task with helpful advice copied and pasted from ChatGPT today. According to ChatGPT, "InDesign is not able to perform this task, and this is how you do it in InDesign"... And she wonders why I trust ChatGPT as far as I can throw a datacenter...

Welp, the new washer is paid for... I have $400 in my account that needs to last me 'til payday on the 20th... ...I have $410 in bills due up to the 19th... ...I'mma ask for an advance at work tomorrow, methinks. 😒 Not asking for handouts from friends here, it's not a crisis, just a nuisance.

D&D today, a regular brigand threatened my (angora) harengon swashbuckler with that "You know those furry hand things? My girlfriend has been wanting one of those." My harengon replied "I am unsurprised your girlfriend has developed an inclination for muff." The brigand was unable to retort. 🤣

Apparently, one of my colleagues was immensely disappointed watching Supergirl last night. She complained that the effects looked dreadfully dated, she was expecting to see Jason Momoa, and she didn't understand why the antagonists were witches, of all things. Hooboy, that took some explaining...

Okay, fine, I'll at least *consider* stopping referring to the change in FPS games ca. 2005-2010 as "Fifty Shades of Brown"... I make no promises beyond considering it, though... 😏
