Unexcepted highlight of Hebrides trip with a group of non birding friends was finding seven Corncrakes (4 seen) when we randomly stopped one afternoon on an island I had never heard of! I had only ever seen three Corncrakes, the last being on Scilly in 2002

Was watching a Wood Sandpiper at Stodmarsh today when it started singing, something that I had never witnessed before. I have posted a recording to my eBird checklist ebird.org/checklist/S3... When a second bird came in, the original bird started displaying briefly before they flew off together.

This time last week I was wondering if I was going to see a Yellow-browed Warbler this year. Another four today (2 Bockhill, one Dover Castle and one SFV) takes my week's haul to 12 birds!
