So sorry to hear this. Similar experience to my husband. He started to feel unwell in March but symptoms were vague, mainly hip pain & tiredness, no-one sure what to make of it. Eventually GP ordered a CT scan which found a completely unexpected retroperitoneal carcinoma. He died in July, aged 69.
Sue Reeve@suereeve.bsky.social · 7h agoHad scans. Problem thought to be kidneys/gall bladder. Kept in, needed further scan over w'end, but not considered urgent, so done Monday. I was in daily communication with her. Yesterday got a message from her saying she'd just been diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. 😮 5 yrs older than me.
This popped up on my Facebook memories this morning. It was taken between Wookey Hole & Priddy in Somerset (the county where he lived all his life) 2 years ago. You will probably need to zoom in to read the words carved on the stile 😭

I can't get going this morning. I was ok last night, I thought, right, tomorrow I'll get on with Tell Us Once and sorting the broadband and the gas & electricity. But this morning I feel rubbish.

I was interested in Susan saying Bert never hit his children. On Ambridge Extra, Clive told Amy he had turned out the way he had because his father beat him. I assumed that, being Clive, he was grossly exaggerating for sympathy & using it as an excuse, but... 1/2 #TheArchers

Phil was Fairbrother's farm manager. The notes in Rex's book will have been written by Jane Maxwell, who Phil employed as a poultry keeper. She & Grace fought (not literally I think!) over Phil for a while. Eventually he chose Grace & Jane left Ambridge. #TheArchers 1/2

I was pleased to hear a substantial clue this evening as to the whereabouts of Jubilee Field (the SWs must have been reading my posts 😄). It is on the opposite bank from the village green. So I reckon it must be the large field with the public footpath running through it. #TheArchers
It's perfectly simple. It will be Rosie's first cousin on Rex's side and her 3rd cousin on Alice's side. #TheArchers

You have all been so kind, I want to let you know that things have moved much more quickly than I expected and Chris died this morning. I may not be posting about #TheArchers for a while. Or perhaps I might, if I need a distraction. I don't know whether I am coming or going at the moment.

Just watched. Thanks for posting, I hadn't seen it before. It could have done with some captions, there were one or two actors I didn't recognise, and it would've been good to know the names of the SWs interviewed, they weren't very impressive... #TheArchers

Oh how sad -she was a wonderful actress. who despite not being conventionally beautiful stole every scene she was in. Penelope Keith could convey more with a raised eyebrow than most with a full speech. Sincere condolences to her family & friends RIP Dame Penelope Keith
Regarding who was looking after 10-year-old Kate. Adam was 20 & Debbie nearly 17. If it was just before Christmas they would've been home for the holidays from university & boarding school respectively. Jenny probably asked Peggy to keep an eye on things. #TheArchers

December 1987 wasn't just before Alice was born. It was more like the time Alice was conceived 😕 Jennifer may have looked beautiful then, but by the time Alice was born Brian was at the races with Mandy Beesborough. #TheArchers
Thank you. I don't know why being concerned about climate change is automatically left-wing 🙄. Then-SW Mary Cutler said in 1999 that #TheArchers is lobbied by a lot of interest groups, as well as by individuals, but the SWs decide what to include. I doubt this has changed.
