“We cannot deny our heritage as a nation built by immigrants. We cannot watch our democratic institutions erode to the point where no compromises can be found, which enables our society to overcome the polarization that divides our nation.”

Bishop DiMarzio: Immigration is what makes America great

On this 250th anniversary, we celebrate our democracy and our achievements as a nation, but we can never forget that it was because of immigration that we have achieved so much.

Surfed around on cable for some news and several channels were still broadcasting Trump's off-the-wall, off-topic, Oval Office blather with few interruptions from those gathered. The super said it was "breaking news" about the Iran War. Text-based news is not as captured because of the medium.

What will the media companies who are publishing stories that Blanche agreed to a “deal” with Cornyn & Tillis to kill the slush fund write when people start getting paid with our tax dollars & this whole thing is revealed as a sham? Since they aren’t writing how it’s a sham now.

I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.

The reason the GOP had to retake the White House was to control the Epstein narrative. I fear that control of the Epstein narrative is why so many corporations have bent the knee to Trump. I think the Epstein horror extends to govt officials, and corporate heads.

The very last line of this piece should be the lead for their reporting: “With none of Trump’s aims accomplished and the Strait of Hormuz closed, U.S. allies see dysfunction and vulnerability from the war that Russia and China will welcome.” www.nytimes.com/2026/08/02/b...

Oil Prices Plummet as Investors Digest Pause in Iran War Fighting (Gift Article)

The markets’ moves were the first since President Trump said he had halted a planned U.S. assault on Iran.

Trump 2 has shown that the bulk of federal, state, and local "law enforcement" don't perform any useful functions at all. If they did, it would not be so easy to re-task them to brainless gestapo work like rounding up whole neighborhoods and waiting outside public buildings.

I wrote about how immigration arrests are at all-time highs, even as ICE is trying to assume a lower public profile. How are they doing this? Look to your local police.

This world isn't collapsing because humanity became too compassionate, too equal, or too free… It is collapsing because greedy fucking sociopaths, converted governments into protection rackets for oligarchs and crooks, like Trump!! Any Questions?! 😎✨

GDP growth for Q2 came in lower than expected this morning: 1.5% (vs. the 2.1% economists predicted). Growth has averaged 1.9% under Trump — lower than the 2.4% during Biden's last year and the 3% Trump's Treasury Secretary has promised to deliver by the end of the year.

For those who missed the past eras of threats, proven false in the Pentagon Papers in Vietnam, Communism was not the threat. Arms manufacturers rose from the propaganda & many young people were killed or damaged for life in a foreign land with no experience in the cultures or geography over & over.

🚨 🚨 "Communists", a GOP dogwhistle as old and tired as Trump himself, is their new "Woke" (and Antifa, DEI, Vermin...) Share my reminder meme liberally. And vote Blue at midterms in numbers too BIG to rig‼️ #Blues
