Nerd about wrestling, politics, and horror movies. On-again, off-again writer. Lover of dogs. I speak only for myself on here.

honestly can't stress enough, as a former family law attorney, how depressingly common Max Miller's behavior and words are, right down to the petty fixation on custody procedure and rules when faced with allegations of shocking violence.

Rep. Max Miller: "When I was reported for child abuse of my daughter for a broken collarbone, my daughter was in my ex-wife's care 9 out of the last 11 days and she took her to the emergency room, which is a contempt violation from our shared parenting plan."

If you suppress something that needs to be expressed, only grief and pain will ensue. Spider-Man learns this the hard way in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, a phenomenal portrayal of loneliness and heartache, but also of bravery and honor. Holland was born to be Spider-Man. Great movie.

By the way, it's incredible to me that with The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day taking up much of the screen space at my local AMC, *Obsession* still has a showing tonight. Supergirl and Disclosure Day are gone. Wow. Obsession came out 76 days ago!

Choices define the unfurling of our lives, but they don't necessarily have to define us in perpetuity. The world I want to live in is also filled with grace and understanding. Boyne's book beautifully explores this. Ambitious in scale and scope, while ultimately evincing intimacy, humor, and heart.

if there’s anything I would want to drill into the public consciousness it’s that there are almost always like a dozen ways to approach any given problem and some of them will be more effective than others and we have to stop acting like the questions around it are against fixing the issue

“That the richest man in the world and the biggest donor to the president and ruling party of the United States openly and repeatedly endorses ethnic cleansing and insinuates violent threats ought to be of greater concern to the world’s power brokers.” Indeed.

Elon Musk’s embarrassing Economist interview and subsequent racist tantrum ought to present the media, government, investors and index funds with a simple yes-or-no question: Should huge chunks of the economy and millions of Americans’ retirement funds be tied to this man’s fortunes? (new @ms.now)

I don't think McConnell is secretly dead or anything, but it is bizarre they released another photo and don't just do a video. If he's well enough to apparently make cogent statements for a press release, then he can do a video surely.

If you're someone who has any modicum of affection for the moviegoing experience — the thrill and awe of seeing a movie in the theater — then seeing a movie in true IMAX 70mm is something you have to experience at least once.

Nolan's "The Odyssey" is grand and spectacular, but where it triumphs is in the intimate moments, often on the face of Damon's Odysseus (let's go, Best Actor!), a much more remorseful character than his book counterpart. But a good choice as a representation of man's hubris and need for humility.

Hierarchy, newsroom tension, fatherhood, and even life and death are explosively explored in Hideo Yokoyama's 2003 book (translated in 2018). As a former journalist, like Yokoyama, I was enthralled by the newsroom scenes and how decisions are made, especially when covering a world historical event.

NYC’s small business owners have said it over and over: endless paperwork and uncertainty has made getting their stores up and running too difficult. So we’re cutting red tape, eliminating redundant permits (did you know you need a permit just to serve some ice cream?), and speeding up inspections.

A predictable, and by now tedious, tactic of incompetent military leaders is to attempt to spin criticism of their catastrophic misjudgements as an attack on the troops they have flung into the meatgrinder.

😳 Hegseth snaps at Peters: "Your characterization of this incredible effort as a failure if reckless and irresponsible and smear the sacrifice of the troops. Shame on you." Peters responds: "You, sir, are the failure!"
