82: Partners in Crime from 1929 is an adventurous collection of stories about the married Tuppence and Tommy solving bizarre cases together at a detective agency. Christie plays with the form having them solve cases in persona of heroes of classic mysteries of the era, quite meta. #booksky
81: Angel Down, Krause’s Pulitzer Prize Winner about five misfit soldiers in WWI who are sent to no man’s land on an impossible rescue mission. It is a bravura novel written in one sentence with gory details, cadence, and a deep sense of humanity’s good and terrible deeds. #booksky

80: Ella Minnow Pea uses the epistolary form to craft a linguistic story of authoritarianism, dogged devotion, and resistance to corruption and oppression in a manner that feels so relevant, which is scary as the book was published in 2001. A great read. #booksky

74: The Secret Adversary, Christie’s second novel and the first to feature Tommy and Tuppence is a fun take on the adventure spy novel that were emerging after WWI. There is a real sense of energy and youthfulness to this book. #booksky
