One hour of jet lag twice a year in exchange for not having super dark mornings all winter long - that seems like a good deal. People fly coast to coast everyday with its three-hour jet lag and seem to do fine.

When I was a kid during the Oil Crisis, we tried permanent daylight savings. Everyone ended up hating it, and it was repealed before long. The big problem is that kids have to go to school in the dark in December and January and as a result get hit and killed by cars at an alarming rate.

SCOTUS finally did something good by affirming birthright citizenship. They did not take us back to the bad old days of the infamous 1857 Dred Scott SCOTUS decision where citizenship was denied to persons of black African descent.

In 1876 for the Centennial, there was a huge World’s Fair in Philadelphia where the right hand and torch of the Statue of Liberty was shown and the telephone was demonstrated. For the 250th, we get Kid Rock and sadness.

I remember the Bicentennial in 1976. It was amazingly joyful. My High School raised a huge amount of money to fly the whole marching band to DC to be the parade. This time it is so different and sad.

Grid-scale solar plus battery just keeps riding the volume cost curve down. It is already the first choice for new generation capacity and keeps getting cheaper by the year.
