I haven't been keeping up with movies this summer. Is Tom Holland in anything this year? Haven't seen much of that guy lately.

Has someone already written a short story about Medusa and a golem falling in love?
Have you ever had a smoke alarm complain about its battery dying, and in the process, drain your will to live? I sit in blessed silence, now, but at what cost?
Today is my 31st anniversary. For those married less time, here is the advice you need in order to reach 31 years of reasonable maternal happiness. 🧵
Saw a comment on a video announcing Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider. Comment was: "GHOST RIDER?!? LGF!" I know what they were trying to type, but that LGF in place of LFG made me actually LOL.
It looks like Toni Braxton and Taylor Hicks are both still touring. If they toured together, I wouldn't expect anything to come from it.
I've received at least 6 calls from "member services" today. Since they're virtual assistants, I've been keeping them on the line as long as possible. I'm trying to get them to say stupid stuff, but it's hard to get them off topic.
I think for some of us, the question about whether or not Mitch McConnell is alive and able to do his job has nothing to do with replacing him. It's about when we get to celebrate that wretched monster finally slouching off to hell.
This is just to say I have closed the social media apps that were causing me immense anxiety and which you were probably doomscrolling yourself Forgive me my soft, fragile body cannot contain such fomo and dread
I agree that the rules should be updated to make sure AI can't vote. As a treat, the rules should state that only humans and talking cats have voting privileges.
The fact that my cat can arguably vote for the Hugo awards strikes me as a sign that the rules should be updated to specify that only humans can vote. Because it's just a matter of time before someone claims that their AI girlfriend is a person and can vote for the Hugos.
This is the last thing I will write that involves Lindsey Graham.

Theory: Trump can no longer sustain himself. He is sucking the life force out of the senators closest to him, a technique taught to him by his chief vampire, Stephen Miller. First McConnell. Now Graham. Looking forward to Ted Cruz testing his Temu-Wolverine healing factor.
Working on this story again today, looking at my notes, I'm reminded that I write my outlines in pencil, and none of these plans are permanent.
In this post, I talk about Bryanna's health scare, finding the best version of myself at Baycon 2026, my own health updates, and the projects I'm currently working on.

Bryanna made it through surgery and is doing very well. She continues to teach me how to be sweet and kind even when it seems like it should be difficult to do so.
Phone rings. Them: Good morning, I'm calling from PG&E Me: You're not with PG&E Them: ... Phone disconnects. This repeats daily.
They are admitting her. Surgery will be tomorrow.
So, Bryanna has been in the hospital a while. She needs to have her gallbladder out, but the hospital wouldn't do it because Bryanna is a big girl and they say she needs a bariatric team. Insurance complicated everything. 1/

I talked with my cat this morning. My cat didn't have anything to say, either.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-South Dakota) said he spoke with the hospitalized Sen. McConnell on Monday, and Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyoming) talked with him Tuesday, their offices said. Read more here: https://wapo.st/4fowv7Q
Someone just told me "the squeaky wheel gets the worm" and I respect it.
I probably should have mentioned that I'm at Baycon/Westercon in Santa Clara this weekend. I'll post my panel schedule and stuff soon. If you're here, come say Hi!
Is today the day where all the fine people named July wake up in jubilant celebration, or do they pull the blankets up and curse the next 31 days of their name being mispronounced "as a joke?"
Bryanna is back in the hospital. Pancreatitis again. Maybe still? She was only out a couple days. Gonna be another hard weekend.
It's been at least 24 hours and I'm still not seeing any signs of superpowers. I don't think that spider was radioactive enough.
Here is another example of a crazed pro-algae (likely paid) protester.

They have Bryanna on an antibiotic that has. Brand name of Flagyl and when the nurse gave the generic name, I heard "Metroid needs it all." Turns out that's basically correct.
Another update on Bryanna, and some thoughts. She's still in the hospital, and they completed the MRI last night. She is producing gall stones, but her bowels are not blocked, so no endoscopy necessary.
I'm home. Bryanna will be staying at the hospital a few days. Pancreatitus, probably caused by the Ozempec. She is going to be okay.
At the emergency room for my daughter. She has severe abdominal pain, nausea, and her skin is clammy. Never been in this position before. Recording my thoughts here.
