Stumbled on this book at a library sale, liked the cover, blurbs from Ann Patchett, Adam Johnson and T.C. Boyle so I bought it. Absolutely phenomenal novel about the Chechen wars. Writing is incredibly powerful, story is so compelling, characters tremendously well drawn. Debut novel! Two thumbs up!

FWIW, Meta was fully aware of how these glasses would primarily be used. The glasses were designed to erase consent, and that is why they exist. Anything that they do that suggests they want to ameliorate this use is an attempt to win the PR battle and manipulate public opinion.

Unsolicited advice for Dems re: Moscow Mitch. Dem gov- appoint temporary replacement and schedule special election. If he's indeed alive/well as R's claim he can certainly find a minute to have "20-min conversation" with gov and member of media! Try playing hardball you might like it!

I haven't been listening to as much heavy music as I used to, but regardless this is amazing. First of all they still sound incredible. Secondly, how the hell did Napalm Death get on @npr.org that's incredible. And finally, these guys are unapologetic leftists and socialists! Love it!
