Scribbler, performer, general creative type and consumer (of creative stuff). I’m a professional in each of these areas. I'm a contender. Being nice isn’t that hard. *if I don't know you, I'm less likely to follow back if you haven't posted, otherwise 🤷♂️
Every Friday night I hang my Irish Times 'pouch' on front door for the weekend paper. I also leave one of the driveway gates open so they can run in and out without delay. I'm considerate that way. This morning my paper barely made it past the gate. Wrapped in plastic. This is a regular occurrence.
I have had an @cineworld.bsky.social Unlimited membership since the scheme first began. I go to the cinema a lot so it made sense plus I used to live near Cineworld. They’ve made some changes and now I can neither book a ticket nor renew my membership…nor contact them 😡
At a time when the world is falling apart and we’re almost afraid to turn on the news we need affirmations of the simple things to remind us there is good in the world. Like family rituals and traditions and a voice like Sean’s, sharing these stories every week 🙏
Why is printer ink so fuckin expensive? I need colour but it’s the same price as a combo pack or thereabouts. Or…I could go to Harvey Norman and buy a new printer for less than the cost of a colour cartridge.
@robmahoney.bsky.social I’m just catching up with the Industry pod. Harpsichord me hole. I can’t believe that I, came so close, with “harperstrapson@“.
Do you know what makes me happy? Hearing Wendy Zukerman back on Science VS. What doesn’t make me happy is all the studies’ emphasis on relationships. It must be difficult for those with small or no families & little or no friend circle to listen to or read about
Forget what you *think* makes you happy. The world's longest-running study on happiness has the science-approved answer 🧪 open.spotify.com/episode/2aTq...
@fiachnaobraonain.bsky.social Every time I hear Where are Your Kids Tonight now I'm focused on John Grant's harmony and trying to replicate it. At times he's singing higher and at others lower. Is there a name for that...other than brilliant?
@johncreedon.bsky.social John. Would ye mind asking that Fiachna fella to get engaged on BlueSky? I don't want to have to engage with the other place to message him. Maybe I'll email him to check his Bluesky 🤔 😉
@fiachnaobraonain.bsky.social You need to tell your listeners about the best place to reach you. The Good Place - Bluesky. Forget about TwiXter. Please
I'm on S4 of Peaky Blinders. Jaysus there's some mad accent work going on. Adrien Brody trying to do Brando and, as usual, only Aiden Gillen knows what Aiden Gillen is doing.
My main takeaway is that you're going to have to learn French, Sean. Not for dealing with airport shenanigans but in order to have the chats with tes petits-enfants.
Turned on the radio. Heard Brendan O'Connor ; my Saturday morning reminder to turn off radio and listen to a podcast.
I wish Amazon customer service would join Bluesky so I wouldn’t have to go onto TwiXter and make my complaints there
@seanmoncrieff.bsky.social The Scottish term for the reluctance to get out of bed is "hurkle-durkle". A friend told me this in a pub and it was followed by many minutes of uncontrolled laughter.
I was gifted a Musical Theatre course in 2019 at Waltons School of Music and "On the Street Where You Live" was my song for the end of term show. My mam died 2 weeks before the show and I never got to perform but I often hum "On The Street..."when I think of her. Lovely article. Are we related?
Filing a report about Twitter on the App Store actually works, everybody do it
It’s been a while since I got stuck into a good muffin. Remember when muffins were all the range? Now it’s all croissants and Danish pastries.
I’m on the bus, passing through Glasnevin, when the driver pulls over and we hear the static hum of the intercom. “Gravediggers now, lads”. A group of Aussies descend the stairs giddy with the hospitality Dublin has shown them. Stepping off the bus my “thank you” to the driver is heartfelt & loud
@fiachnaobraonain.bsky.social I Can’t Give Everything Away is such a ‘fire and ice’ song. I’m sorta dancing and crying at the same time. He may not have given “everything” but he gave us a lot, especially on that last album.
@virginmediaireland.bsky.social Get off TwiXter and do more of your business here please
